Rustic Conway Cabin-Like Home Near Everything

Recently refreshed, 2 bedroom home centrally located to all the best activities the area has to offer including Storyland, Diana's Bath, Skiing, Saco River & Marshall’s Conservation Land ( hiking, mountain biking, snowmobiling etc.). This getaway is for 4 people looking for a comfortable/private cabin with standard facilities/amenities, far enough away from crowds/traffic but close to everything! House recently updated including floors, cabinets, counters and main bed mattress. The space Carry in/Carry out trash - no trash pick at house Keyless entry - Host will send code prior to Check In Shower only facility No wood/matches provided Guest access Access to entire house; however, back bonus room is difficult to heat so recommend not using in the winter and keeping the sliding barn door closed. The small game room in stable is NOT available for guests between December to April Other things to note First and foremost, this is a cabin-like house near the woods. It is comfortable with standard amenities; however, this is not hotel quality. It was recently updated including floors, cabinets, counters etc.. We are pet friendly (1 pet only) but contact host for fees for an additional pet. The expectation is that the guest picks up after their pet, do not leave alone and keeps pets off the furniture especially the beds since the comforters are difficult and expensive to clean. Please be courteous so others can enjoy the retreat also. The house/landscape is maintained regularly by a local person but keep in mind that we are situated close to nature (e.g., woods, brush, uneven landscape, critters) so if you are uncomfortable with nature-like conditions then this is NOT the house for you. Carry In/Carry Out Trash - NO trash pick-up at home. Alternative arrangements can be made at $5 per bag. Contact Host We only have shower capability, no bath option. For TV, you can stream or connect to the VSH/DVD player. Live YouTube and Prime streaming are available for guests. There is a small DVD only TV in the bedroom with the twin beds. We have an assortment of older VHS and DVD available in the blue cabinet near the entry way. We do not supply fire wood for the wood stove or fire pit or lighters for liability purposes but they are available for responsible guest use. I would recommend bringing "fire starters" also to make it easier to start a fire especially if you are not familiar with wood stove usage. There are multiple places along RT 16 and within town to purchase wood (e.g., street stands, Lowes/home Depot etc..). Winters (November thru April) in the white mountains can be unpredictable. It is common to have brief electrical outages and snow squalls resulting in snow drifts and fast accumulations. The driveway and pathway to house is plowed regularly but is on a schedule so may not be fully plowed/shoveled depending on snow conditions and guest arrival time. Therefore, there may be times a guest may encounter snow/ice on the driveway or pathway to the house prior to the plowing/shoveling. If you are unable or unwilling to adjust to these unpredictable winter conditions and activities then this is NOT the winter cabin for you. Caution: The driveway and deck can become very icy in winter. It is recommended to to wear boots with good traction when coming and going from the house and walking around the driveway/property. Accessibility to the front and back yard in winter is severely restricted due to snow accumulations. It can often be several feet deep. We will try to maintain a small space for pets to use but depending on the conditions cannot be guaranteed. Please plan on walking your pet and be careful as it is always slippery. If the power goes out; it is usually for only a short time. The propane heater will not operate without electricity. Plan on using the wood stove. There will be some battery operated lanterns that are accessible. Please do not use candles if at all possible as they can be dangerous (especially if left unattended). The host has no control over the power outages so plan accordingly. The property has an out building which contains the small game room but this is not available between December thru April as it is not heated and stores the snow blower.
