We provide all bed and bathroom linen, cooking equipment, coffee and tea making facilities and a welcome pack of goodies to make your stay at the Chateau a comfortable one. As we are undertaking a major upgrade to connection facilities there is currently no Wi-Fi available at the Chateau. The mobile signal for all service providers is excellent though. To make your stay a relaxing one there is no television, however, there is a Bluetooth speaker available for you to connect your device to. Washer and dryer facilities are available. These are coin operated. There is an information pack in the apartment with useful numbers as well as contacts in case of an emergency. Pop outside at night and be amazed by a sky sparkling with stars, unobstructed by ambient light sources. A wonderful place for star gazers and astronomers. The village of Les Forges is a quiet oasis. Adjacent to the Chateau there is an organic food, produce and wine shop (for bread and pastries please order the day before you require them), a licensed pub which serves dinner nightly (depending on the season), and of course for golfing enthusiasts, an 18-hole course, with pro shop, club house and a restaurant which is open for lunch and dinner. Close by you will find the quaint villages of Vasle and Menigoute, both of which have a Supermarket, Boulangerie, Boucher, and all regular services such as pharmacies, health professionals, banks and restaurants. For larger shopping areas visit Poitiers or Parthenay (a lovely historic town not to be missed). Chateau des Forges is just 30 minutes by car from the train station or airport in Poitiers. Hire cars can be booked for pick up from both locations. Poitiers is just 1 hour 15 min trip from Paris on a high-speed train. The Deux Sevres region of France is steeped in history right back to the 2nd century Romans, many of such ruins can be visited, especially those in the town of Sanxay just 6km from the Chateau. For day trips from the Chateau visit La Rochelle, Loire River and Valley, Cognac, Nantes, Angers, Tours, Saumur, Limoges and many other fabulous places. Guest access Top floor tower apartment.
