Guest access Located at the foot of the Haut-Jura Natural Park, Menthières is a small hamlet of 50 inhabitants. We are at 1100 m altitude surrounded by nature, snow in winter and close to a multitude of hiking trails. There is no public transport to access Menthières, but from Bellegarde sur Valserine TGV station which serves Geneva Cornavin in 25 minutes, Lyon in 1 hour 15 minutes, Paris in 2 hours 40 minutes is 13 km away. Menthières is a small family-friendly ski resort, with a sledging conveyor belt, 2 green slopes and a red slope. For adventurers, the place is ideal for snowshoeing, ski touring or paragliding. In the village you will find the Gentiane Bar-Restaurant, ski rental, goat farm and tree climbing park. All other shops are a 20-minute drive to Bellegarde-sur-Valserine. Nearby you will find a cheese factory and a soap factory in Chézery-Forens. A larger ski area in Lélex. Cross country skiing on the Retord plateau, in Giron or Vattay. You can visit the Valserine Waterfalls, swim at Lake Genin or Poizat. A cinema and swimming pool are located in Bellegarde-sur-Valserine. When Annecy, Annemasse and Geneva are only 1 hour away by car. During your stay We welcome hikers who are doing the GTJ during their stop in Menthières. A meal basket can be offered.
