We welcome you to our Gaviotas de Osa Hotel, it is located on the shore of the Sierpe River, just a 10-minute walk from the center of the community and the boat dock to Bahía Drake. We offer a traditional Costa Rican breakfast at a cost of $7 per person. We also help you book the different tours to Cocovado, Isla del Cano, El Rio Sierpe, Los Manglares and Pesca! We have Wi-Fi service. The space Sloth Room ~ This is a River Facing room with 1 double bed, 1 twin bed, bathroom and fan. It has hot water shower. It does NOT have air conditioning. On the property is a street-side room with hot water shower and air conditioning. Rooms #1,#4, #7 have hot water showers. Rooms #1, #2, #3 are River Facing rooms Rooms #4, #5, #6, #7 are street side rooms Location and Food ~ We are located directly on the "Estero Azul" an estuary of the Sierpe Manglar River system. It is beautiful, delicate, pure and special; thick with diversity of flora, fauna and so many different kinds of birds at all times... but especially unique is the chorus of birds at sunrise and sunset which you get a front-row experience of from our deck and/or your room. This is the perfect place to be just enough out of town to be connected to the purity of this OSA Peninsula nature but close enough for very easy access. The property a 1-minute drive or 10 minute walk to town. In town there are two small stores, 2 restaurants, a Bakery, a cute, central park in town and the boat dock for Drake Bay. There is also another small restaurant a 2-min walk up the street from us. Taxi's are inexpensive and we can arrange for you if needed. We can also arrange for food to be ordered from any of these restaurants and delivered here. And, we also serve a local Costa Rican lunch and/or dinner plate for 4,000. All guests are also welcome to use the kitchen to cook their own food! Rooms ~ Our rooms are clean, simple and lovely. Can be considered on the "rustic" side but tended to with love and creativity and perfect for the budget traveler still looking for comfort and care :) Some of our rooms look out onto the river and some do not. Parking ~ Parking is free and available on site. If you are staying with us before and after your trip to Drake Bay - you can keep your car here for free. Bus ~ The Tracopa bus that runs from San Jose and passes along the Pacific Coast beaches also passes in front of our hotel. There is a direct Tracopa bus from Sierpe to San Jose at 6:00am every morning that will pick you up directly in front of the hotel. There is a direct Tracopa bus from San Jose to Sierpe that leaves the San Jose station every morning at 8:30am. Depending on the driver he may let you off as well in front of the hotel, if not, it is an easy 10 minute walk from town back to us. Tour Reservation Service ~ Sierpe is often thought of as a town only to pass through for one night on the way to Drake Bay - but that is a misunderstanding of the area! Sierpe is amazing place to land for a few days, experience the peace of this small local fishing town and go on tours from here! - We can arrange Tours to Corcovado National Rainforest - for 1 day or multiple days - Isla del Cano snorkle or diving tours - Whale-watching tours - Sierpe River and Manglar tours - There are many locals who give wildlife viewing tours, day and night, and fishing tours along the river. - We can also a tour that is a Magrove Forest Boat tour, then a hike up waterfalls on the property of a local who lives deep in the Manglar Forest, up to a viewpoint of the Manglar river system and Pacific ocean and then back again.
