We have got a field at the back of our property which we are happy for guests with dogs to use. However we do have Betsy, our friendly cavapoo, two ponies grazing in the field and sheep in the adjoining field, so dogs must be well behaved and animal friendly. Other things to note The village was once famous for its fruit orchards, particularly hazel pears, the name of the popular local pub, the Hazel Pear, a welcoming village pub which is dog friendly and serves lovely food. The bridge itself is a bowstring truss balanced swing bridge, built in 1932 and was the first in the country to rest on a floating pontoon over the river Weaver. The Leigh Arms pub, which also serves good food, is situated next to the bridge on the river Weaver. The Riverside, also located on the banks of the river is a little further up the A49.
