The space - Step into over 130 years of history. Once a bustling hotel, now a serene family home, Sulphur Lick Hotel preserves the essence of its past with unique details like a clawfoot bathtub and vintage floorboards that add character to your stay. - Unlike the days of exclusively being a hotel - you will be staying in a room in our home - but it is an unusually large and old home! - This means you will be sharing our home with us - although the guest wing is further away from the areas our family uses, so you will be in a quieter area of the house. - Our welcoming committee also includes our dogs Tink, Goose, and Button - they are loud and friendly at first but will quickly discover you are their friend. - Most weekends we offer a complimentary fresh breakfast of cage-free eggs and homemade biscuits or scones in our recently renovated kitchen and dining room (you can also prepare your own food as you need to). - Other adjoining and non-adjoining rooms are also available if you are in need of more beds. Please ask or check our other listings. - There are many ways you can relax here: - Drink some freshly ground coffee. - Walk in the woods. - Visit with some of our kittens, bunnies, and chickens. - Catch some fish in the pond. - Relax on a hammock on the back porch. - If you have kids - they will enjoy the ping-pong table, billiard table, and indoor climbing tubes. - Make yourself at home. We want this to be a safe place for you to land. - The grounds are also home to My Father's Refuge Farm - farm raised eggs, chicken, pork, produce, and flowers are available for sale. Ross County Lodging Registration #: 74569 Guest access In addition to your room (which you will be able to lock from the outside or inside), you will have access to the other common areas of the hotel (shared with our family as well as other guests) , including the parlor, game room, shared main bathroom, laundry room, kitchen/dining room, back porch, and 14 acres of woods. We do have farm animals using the land as well, so please be aware of them. During your stay We are an active family of 8 that will be around the family wing of the hotel as well as the shared common areas. You can spend time with us or stay in the quieter guest wing of the hotel. There are also 14 secluded acres of wood you are free to wander. We will be happy to provide information about things to do in the area. Other things to note Nearby Attractions: - 5 minutes away - Hopewell Mound Heritage area. You will pass the site of the train stop that brought guests to the hotel back in the 1880s-1900s.
