A peaceful and calm coastal retreat, A snug abode for wanderers, to rest their curious feet. Waiting patiently to welcome you, with its perfectly pink front door.’ The space ~ Welcome ~ Our Cornish cottage can be found tucked away down a typical Cornish lane, in the heart of the historic town Penryn, on the idyllic Cornwall Coast. Within its walls lies a unique blend of carefully curated decor, the main detail binding it all together. With stylish cottage vibes & comfy corners, this snug abode promises the perfect combination of simplicity & relaxation. Making an ideal base for a holiday or for wanderers to recharge after days of exploring the stunning Cornish coastline. Whether in front of the log burner or outside with the BBQ lit, this happy hideaway effortlessly persuades you to unplug & soak up the good energy. ~ Interior ~ Downstairs - Open plan kitchen & living room, coupled with an intimate dining corner for entertaining. LG Smart TV with access to Netflix & Amazon Prime. Beyond this a compact laundry room & downstairs bathroom with electric shower & full length bath. Upstairs - Cottage stairs lead the way to a bright & airy second floor. A generous sized Master Bedroom with Kingsize bed. Next to this a smaller Guest Room with double bed. Both have plenty of storage for all of your belongings. ~ Outside ~ A private outdoor ‘Snug’ invites you to pause, unwind a little & gaze up at the sky. With a BBQ for summer nights & a small log burner for colder evenings. Out front, a perfectly positioned bench for sipping morning coffee. ~ Parking ~ With the cottage being located down an old Cornish Lane just off the main road, there is NO CAR ACCESS available. There is however two paid car parks in the area, one being just a 3minute walk away. Car Parks 1) Saracen Car Park (Just Park location code 8337) • Paid parking allowed for 3 with no returning within 1 hour. • Free to Park from 4pm - 9am 2) Commercial Road Car Park (Just Park location code 8427) • Paid parking from 1hour to 1 week (£16 for the week) ~ Guests ~ As the cottage is a small space with a delicate colour pallet & easily breakable items, we kindly ask for adults & children over the age of 12 only in the bookings please. ~ Animals ~ For the same reasons as above, we kindly ask for only pets that would be suitable in the space are brought along. ~ Log Burners ~ Basic logs, kindling & firelighters are provided for your first nights stay. After this please do purchase your own. ~ Extras ~ All items can be found in the cupboard underneath the stairs, please take good care of them. •Outdoor cushions •BBQ & utensils •Outdoor Log Burner •Picnic blankets & Beach coolers ~ A little insight into Penryn ~ It is said that the Bishop of Exeter founded Penryn in 1216, making it one of the oldest settlements in Cornwall. Penryn derives from a Cornish word meaning ‘headland.’ As the name suggests, it lies at the head of the River Penryn's estuary, just northwest of Falmouth. It is a quiet, artsy town that radiates Cornish heritage with historic character rushing out of each corner. Somewhat overlooked, Penryn offers a slower pace and a handy base for exploring Cornwall. Noteworthy spots within walking distance to grab a bite or sip a drink… ~ Baileys Country Store ~ Sunshine Cafe & Yoga ~ Yallah Coffee House ~ Situ Cafe The Warehouse from Origin ~ Stargazy Cafe ~ Pizziera 42 ~ Mariners Fish&Chips ~ Bango Kitchen ~ The Neighbourhood Wine Bar ~ Verdant Brewery & Tap Room ~ Thirsty Scholar Pub Penryn does not have its own beach, although there are several nearby beaches within easy reach. The closest being in Falmouth Gylly Beach, Castle Beach, Swanpool & Maenporth - are all within 12 minutes by car. Guest access ~ The Cottage - The whole cottage is for guest use, along with the private outdoor ‘Snug’ at the rear of the property. ~ The Bench ~ Out front is a wonderful spot to sit and sip a morning coffee. ~ The Garden - This area is PRIVATE and reserved for residents in other cottages use only, please DO NOT use this space. Other things to note ~ Stay in touch ~ Check out our Insta @4_banks_cottage ~ Parking ~ With the cottage being located down an old Cornish Lane there is NO ON SITE PARKING available. There is however two paid car parks in the area, one being just a 3minute walk away. Just Park - Free to Park from 4pm - 9am 8337 Saracen Car Park 3254 Commercial Road Car Park ~ By Car ~ The drive to Penryn is easy. You don’t need to worry about those small Cornish lanes. If you are coming from outside of Cornwall then it’s quickest to take the A30 to Truro. Once you reach Truro, it’s just 10 minutes on the Falmouth road which delivers you right to Penryn. ~ Public Transport ~ ~ Train ~ Penryn train station is on the Falmouth – Truro line. Located at the top of town on the hill & within walking distance. Falmouth is just 3 minutes away on the train. *** Please note, the walk up can be a little tough if you are hard of walking. You can connect at Truro train station when travelling from further afield. This is super handy, as London Victoria runs direct trains to Truro, then it’s a quick change and 10 minutes to Penryn. ~ Bus ~ There are a number of bus stops throughout town with different operating bus rotes. ~ Bike/ Kayak / Paddle board ~ There is plenty of opportunity to use all of the above if you have brought your own along with you. If not they are available for rent at most local beaches. ~ Cleaning ~ Should you need extra cleaning products, the my are located in the Housekeeping box underneath the kitchen sink. Cleaning equipment is on the back of the laundry door. ~ Recycling ~ Please be kind to our environment & recycle as best you can. There are clearly labelled recycling containers in front of the cottage.
