This special property perched high above redwoods and vineyards was the very first home ever built on the hill over 100 years ago. While the cabin is nestled away in a small woodsy mountain community, it is only 10 minutes from the nearest Russian River beach, 15 minutes from the town of Guerneville and within 30 minutes from the Pacific Ocean, Healdsburg, and other notable spots in Sonoma County. This is NOT a party home, but rather a serene retreat for those looking to escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Inside, you'll find high vaulted ceilings, a spacious living area, and a fully equipped kitchen and dining space. Sink into the oversized couch and unwind while enjoying complimentary Netflix on the 43" 4K HDR television. Whether you're cooking a meal in the fully-equipped open-concept kitchen or sipping coffee, you'll feel right at home. We provide complimentary coffee (via Nespresso machine), tea, and convenient compostable to-go cups with lids for your convenience. We also offer a toaster, kettle, blender, coffee bean grinder, milk frother, Chemex pour over glass coffeemaker, kids dinnerware and utensils, and more. Outside, you can dine alfresco or simply unwind with a glass of wine as you take in the breathtaking sunset views over the Western horizon from the deck. Retreat for the night (or a relaxing afternoon nap) in the main bedroom or smaller second bedroom, both featuring incredibly comfortable queen beds with high-quality foam mattresses, down-alternative pillows, and luxurious 100% viscose bamboo sheets. Each bedroom also includes: - A dresser with ample storage - Blackout curtains for a restful night’s sleep - Extra blankets for added comfort The fully remodeled bathroom boasts a beautifully tiled marble shower stall with a rainfall shower head. We provide eco-friendly, sulfate-free shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (Native brand), as well as plenty of towels and storage for your personal items. During the warmer months (June-October), we offer complimentary floating tubes, portable beach chairs and umbrellas, and beach towels to allow you to enjoy the nearby beautiful Russian River. Summer comfort is ensured with central AC and fans, along with plenty of windows and skylights that let nature’s light fill the cabin. In the winter, you’ll stay warm with central heat. PLEASE NOTE: Our cabin is nestled comfortably in nature, so you may hear the rustle of deer or raccoons passing through the underbrush at night, or spot the occasional spider seeking shelter from the fog. To fully enjoy your stay, you should be comfortable with winding, narrow roads and the natural elements that make this space so unique. Guest access The house and property are completely yours to enjoy! Other things to note GETTING HERE: Google Maps will guide you here with ease. However, please carefully follow your GPS instructions as the house numbers ARE NOT in order on the way to our home. Enjoy the scenic drive along the Russian River, and look for Sam’s Market as your cue to turn onto Forest Hills Rd. Please note that once you leave River Road, the final few miles are winding, single-lane roads with speed bumps. If you encounter another vehicle, you may need to pull over to let them pass. When you arrive, you'll find ample parking available. THINGS TO DO NEARBY: There are plenty of beautiful beaches to explore, some just a few minutes' drive along the banks of the Russian River, and others a bit farther away along the coast. While there aren’t many services within walking distance, you’ll find a magical forest just waiting to be explored—perfect for moments of peace and tranquility. For your convenience, there is a great local mini market right before you turn off of River Rd to get to our home.
