Whether you’re relaxing on the veranda, nestled by the fireplace, taking a dip in the iconic Murrumbidgee or exploring the picturesque surroundings, it really is the perfect retreat to relax, unwind and reconnect. The space Offering the best of the Murrumbidgee and rural seclusion, Gables Riverside Retreat combines unique ranch art, antiques and old wares with contemporary finishes and modern conveniences. A striking exterior with timber framed windows by lush landscapes welcomes guests inside. The kitchen is equipped with all the essentials you'll need, including a fridge, freezer, microwave, stove, oven, toaster and kettle. The open plan living area allows you to flow from the kitchen into the lounge room with a wood burning fireplace and rustic decor. Air-conditioning and heating also runs throughout the home. The dining area boasts beautiful timber windows which overlook the valley and river views that surround the property. Upstairs in the loft, rest easy in one of the four plush bedrooms with exposed timber beams. Two bedrooms offer queen beds, while the other two offer king or split singles. Towels and linen are provided for your stay. There is also an area for kids to read or play one of our many board games available. There is one generously sized bathroom inside with a beautiful stone basin that sits on floating timber redbox benches. Outside, the veranda overlooks the picturesque Murrumbidgee. Fire up the BBQ and dine on the large veranda, enjoy a wine and cheese plate around the fire pit or throw a line in and see if you can catch some dinner. Provided is a picnic basket and rug to enjoy by the river. Kayaks are available on request. Guest access Gables Riverside Retreat is situated off the Hume Highway, 20kms from the rural town of Bookham, 1.5hrs from Canberra, 3.5hrs from Sydney and 6 hrs from Melbourne. During your stay, you and your group will have the entire farm stay to yourself. Please make yourself at home! There is river access for your own slice of exclusive river frontage. Other things to note Please read and respect the house rules. This is very much appreciated, thank you! On arrival, we will share a house guide that contains instructions on how to access the property, use certain appliances, instructions on the generator for power and anything else you may need to know.
