TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX (TOT) Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) is charged to travelers when renting accommodations in a hotel, inn, or other lodging unless the stay is for a period of 30 days or more. The tax is to be collected at the time that payment is made for the accommodation and then remitted by the lodging operator to the City of Lake Elsinore. The City of Lake Elsinore collects TOT Tax quarterly at 10%. Remittance by the lodging operator must be received no later than 30 days after the reporting period.
