Colorful and modern two-story house with large, fenced yard in the Midtown Arts District of Kingston. This design and art lover's retreat has plenty of space to relax indoors and outside, in a prime location to explore Kingston's beautiful and historic Stockade and Rondout districts. It's a short drive to the quaint villages of Rosendale and Woodstock, the trails and farm stands in Rhinebeck across the Hudson, and to the Catskill Mountains: Dogs welcome. The space This petite, charming, two-story 1899 house was gutted and modernized with light bamboo floors, simple lines, and central air conditioning, and is the main residence of a photographer who worked in the interior design industry. Each room, while modest in size and ceiling height, features bold color, unique and stylish furniture, art, and textiles. There are many comfortable & relaxing places to lounge, chill, play outside, and enjoy cozy meals. The bright kitchen is roomy, and has everything you need if you like to cook, and the screened, back dining room opens to the back yard, letting the fresh air and smells of the outdoors in - without the company of nighttime bugs. Your own music selections can be played via your smart phone through a beautiful-sounding vintage receiver and speakers in the kitchen lounge area. There is a full bath on the main floor, and a half bath on the second floor, where the bedroom and living room/additional sleeping accommodations are. The house is uncluttered, gets a lot of light, and has views of leafy trees and simple Victorian-era houses through most of the windows. The yard is large and is fully fenced in with a 6' privacy fence, and features a front, landscaped garden and patio, and side and back lawns, with enough room to run and play - whether you're an adult, kid, or dog. Guests can enjoy a Weber BBQ grill, a fire pit, as well as a selection of fun board games indoors. Guest access Guests will have access to the house and grounds. I ask that guests not access the basement during their stay, except in an emergency to check a fuse or a plumbing element. Other things to note Please note the freezer, kitchen cabinets, and clothes closets will contain some personal items, but ample space will be made for guests to store their items during the specific duration of their stay.
