The Preservatory

The Preservatory is a peaceful, secret hideaway for 2, ideal for couples. Perfectly situated to explore Dartmoor and further afield. An array of cafes, takeaways, small supermarkets and pubs within walking distance. Ideal location for walking and cycling. The space Ideally situated for easy access to cycle paths, Dartmoor National Park or the coast, The Preservatory offers the opportunity to be as active or relaxed as you wish. Enjoy a new landscape everyday, from Parke, our local National Trust estate (5 minutes walk away) to local towns and villages with an array of unique stores and eateries. Only a short drive away are the coastal towns and beaches of Shaldon, Teignmouth and Dawlish Warren and the ancient city of Exeter, with its imposing gothic cathedral, museums and underground passages, is only a 30 minute drive. This area of Devon really does offer something for everyone! We are located in the small town of Bovey Tracey, affectionately known as ‘The Gateway to the Moors’. Situated at the top of Fore Street, our renovated outbuilding is arranged over two floors, and offers exclusive one bedroomed self-contained living. The accommodation is to the rear of the main house and access is gained via our integral garage. There is ample outside space for both dining and relaxing. Permit parking for one vehicle is included for use in the three local car parks, the nearest being less than 200m from the house (note - permit is not valid for on street parking). Please provide car registration prior to arrival so we can update the electronic car park permit with your details. There is also limited on street parking, but please check any restrictions as the traffic wardens are very strict! The total internal floor space is approximately 36 sqm. The double bedroom and bathroom with large walk-in shower are located on the ground floor while the upper floor comprises an open plan lounge with kitchenette. The latter is equipped with a basic set-up for short stays only, including a fridge, combination microwave oven and single portable induction hob. ‘The Preservatory’ has its own dedicated heating system with hot water on demand. There are televisions in both the lounge and bedroom and there is 4G phone capability in the area. Wi-Fi has been extended from the main house and there is a reasonable signal most of the time. We have 2 dogs on site so young children and / or pets will only be permitted to stay following strict prior arrangement. There is a surcharge for pets - please include when booking.
