The space Welcome to Valhalla, a place of tranquil beauty. Valhalla’s spectacular views of the river and mountains is extraordinary and seen from most of your indoor living space ! (ENJOY the ENTIRE ground level of the home, a spacious WALKOUT unit) ! Your private indoor space includes; a large full stocked kitchen with an island and coffee station, Bell Satellite TV, excellent Starlink internet, dining table, desk, luxurious spa shower, King, Queen and Double bedroom suites. The King and Queen boasting magical views. Bed, kitchen and table linen are provided and most towels as well. Valhalla also offers Generac backup power in case the hydro goes out ! A rare and priceless feature ! The grand outdoor living space features; an overhead covered walkout deck, hot tub, BBQ, (single hammock, table and chairs “seasonal”) all to enhance your vacation experience, rain or shine. For your evening enjoyment, 2 fire pit options are available! (SEASONAL) Valhalla is perfectly situated for sky gazing and spotting shooting stars. The night sky is free from artificial light and offers an incredible opportunity to witness an abundance of stars and the silvery milky way traversing the sky! At the water front (SEASONAL) you will find a small beautiful sandy beach, sitting areas, a deck, dock, canoe and a wonderful little cabin. The water level fluctuates daily and the small PRIVATE beach is usually at its fullest during the late afternoon until sunset. The shoreline offers a combination of both sandy and rocky areas so water shoes are handy. There are a variety of adult PFD’s: sized small through XXL - best to bring your own life jackets for that perfect fit ! A private boat launch is available, please inquire as ADVANCE arrangements are required. CELL Valhalla is out of cell service area, wifi calling works great and can be set up easily with Apple devices. If you have an Android, due to their settings, it’s best to set up wifi calling PRIOR to arrival as data is required with “android” devices. Plenty of parking and a private entrance is available. The entire ground level walkout covered deck area with bbq, front lawn area and 2 fire pits(seasonal) are for your enjoyment at Valhalla ! The hosts reside in the upper level of the home with their yellow lab. Their private boat is docked at the river and the waterfront area is identified as shared space. WINTER WONDERLAND Misty mornings along the upper Ottawa River are waiting for you and your morning coffee. Winter time is truly a magical season to witness and enjoy big, bold, beautiful blue skies and breathtaking REFLECTIONS off the majestic upper Ottawa River. Book now for a great winter experience ! It’s a perfect time of the year to enjoy the starry night sky with higher possibilities to see the Northern Lights ! Valhalla is home to many chickadees, bluejays and a variety of woodpecker species during the winter season. ❄️ SNOW ❄️ We reside in the Laurentian Highlands, Antoine Ski mountain is our neighbour ! Expect a lot of snow during the winter time. The winding and hilly roads are plowed yet living in a small township, this service isn’t always first thing in the morning. *** 4WD / AWD vehicles with SNOW tires is recommended. SKI ⛷️ It’s only a 10 minute drive to the neighbouring Antoine mountain ski entrance : 9.5 km in total. A horizontal ski rack is situated at the entrance and under the covered deck. SNOWSHOES 2 or more sets of snowshoes are available for guests! SNOWMOBILING We are minutes from the trails and offer plenty of outdoor parking for trailers and sleds. WINTER WEAR There are plenty of racks inside for drying all your your winter gear ! INDOOR FUN ACTIVITIES While enjoying the spectacular mountain river views from the large picturesque windows, you will find many board games, puzzles, cards, cribbage board and the dining room table converts to a card or bumper-pool table! The top is very heavy solid wood and requires two adults to remove so please let us know if you need assistance. Bring your own POKER chips ! *. *. *. * We reside in a quiet, secluded, private and small neighbourhood. We ask you to please respect our neighbours privacy and property and refrain from trespassing during your nature walks ! We are dog friendly and welcome your furry loved ones. No cats please due to allergies. Please clean up after your dog and crate it when left alone. A large crate, clean dog dishes, pet towels and a blanket are available for your convenience. A modest fee applies so be sure to include your pet at time of booking. Valhalla is situated on a hilltop with several walking paths to the large lookout firepit and waterfront, The lookout fire pit opens May long weekend until November. A small fire pit with spectacular views is only a few steps from your entrance and is available exclusively for guests year round ! There are large rock walls around the property and guests are asked to refrain from climbing onto any of the rocks. Please note the water level FLUCTUATES daily and so does the beach area. The small beach is usually at it fullest during the late afternoon. The shoreline is both sandy and rocky so water shoes are ideal. There is a great drop off about 15 feet from the shore and excellent for swimming. (Seasonal) The hosts ‘personal’ pontoon boat is docked at the waterfront. The waterfront is identified as shared space! BUNKIE The little cabin at the waterfront is open from spring to fall and closed during the winter season. SOFTUB By using the softub you agree to follow the same rules as the host in order to keep it spotless with crystal clear water. It is not a bathtub ! An instruction sheet is found on the coffee table and also posted outside near the softub. Very important : Please shower before entering, use the skimmer net AFTER EACH USE and add a 1/2 scoop of bromine ONCE daily(if used) — The hosts will test the water once daily and service when necessary. PLEASE DRY OFF OUTSIDE- before reentering the unit.
