Description
Come check out our rustic cabin getaway. Enjoy a peaceful stay in a cozy, rustic cabin just 15 minutes out side of Gypsum. All wheel drive or 4 wheel drive recommended to get to us! Cabins are powered by electric, with a small kitchen with a gravity fed sink; bath house with composting tiolet and propane based shower (fed by 50 gallon barrel) Hot tub for use to soak in. Summer time - you are able to drive to the cabin. Winter time - accessible by side by side /snow shoe only. The space The cabin is a 10x12 bungalow with a loft that holds a king bed. There is a ladder that you climb to get to the loft. Under the loft is two comfy chairs for lounging. There is a small table and chairs to use also. The kitchenette had a small mini fridge and basic necessities for cooking. It does not have running water, but a gravity fed sink - also not a full oven, but there is a large hot plate for cooking and a grill outside. This is the perfect glamping spot. These rustic bungalows are located on the back side of our 50 acre working ranch so there is livestock and potential wildlife around. We are located down gypsum creek road - about 15 minutes outside of town. There are two cabins available (there is an airbnb listing for both). Please note the hot tub and the bath house (with shower and composting tiolet) are shared between the two cabins. In summer - you can drive to cabins, however all wheel or 4 wheel drive is recommended. In winter - all wheel or 4 wheel drive needed. This is a snow shoe in/out cabin. not accessible by vehicle. or we schedule a times to help you get in and out! Once the snow starts falling (end of Octobet / first of November) the cabins are accessible by side by side / snow shoe only. (unless you have chains). You park at the bottom of our driveway - we will meet you and show you where the cabins are. it is approx 1/2 mile from parking to cabin. Guest access The cabins are located on the backside of our 50 acre property. You have access to the full cabin and surrounding area - hot tub, bath house, etc. We do ask that you please stay out of fenced pastures - fences are electric and hot and our livestock move through those pastures. Our ranch does back up to private property so we unfortunately do not have hiking access directly from the cabins, but there are some great nearby hiking trails that are just a short drive. If you go past the cabins down the road you will see signs that say private property/no hunting/trespassing - we ask you please abide by that as that is not our land and we are respectful of the neighbors and their privacy. Getting to the cabins: We live down gypsum creek road - as you drive down the road, it will turn to dirt, and we are a few miles down on the right. You do lose cell phone service as you drive so please be aware of that. You will see a sign on the right hand side on a tree that says 8001 and then there will be a small bridge (it is easy to miss). Turn right over the bridge (ignore the signs that says one way / do not enter) and you will come up a steep/long driveway. You will pass one house on the left (neighbors) - continue driving and after a switch back you will see our house (campers on the left, our house/barn/garage on the right). Feel free to stop by and say hi or continue going up the driveway to the cabins - they will be about another 1/4 mile up on the right and you will see signs that say cabin rental. We recommend coming during the daylight - finding them at night without being there before can be difficult - but if you are arriving at night - we are more than happy to meet you at the bottom of the driveway and escort you up or whatever is needed. :) WARNING: If there is inclement weather - heavy rain / snow - we will assess if cabins are still accessible. Full refunds are provided in case their is a cancellation due to weather. Other things to note Our property is unique - a 50 acre working ranch. The cabins are located on the back side of the property. We have livestock and livestock guardian animals so we ask to please let your pets at home - for their safety and our animals safety. The driveway is steep with tight turns so please do not bring large trailers, campers - they are difficult to get in and out. We also ask no side by sides, atvs, dirt bike on the property - it disturbs the animals and other guests. We have propane grills and firepits for use. From 6/1 - 9/30 we do not allow wood burning open fires on the property due to the dry season and fire danger. From 10/1 - 5/31 there are fire pits and fire wood is supplied. Horse back rides and fondue dinner dates are also offered - so just ask if interested! Please note there are two cabins on this property that are located near each other. In winter time if the temps are cold - the propane base shower might not be available for use - sometimes there are freezing issues but we do our best to keep it up and running! We recommend all wheel or four wheel drive. In summer time you are able to drive to the cabins. in winter - Parking is at the bottom of the driveway and we can escort you to the cabins (snowmobile or side by side) or you can enjoy a nice snow shoes and we take your stuff up for you. :) If any specific requests - or any questions - please just ask us - we want to be as accommodating as possible, but our remote access and accommodations is what make the stay unique! Waiver is required to be signed.
