**Enjoy 20% off our normal nightly rates in February 2026** Our well loved family home is available for your cosy break, right around the corner from picturesque Gold Hill. Steps away from everything that the town has to offer - independent shops/cafés, antique emporiums and pubs with crackling fireplaces - a peaceful haven to hunker down in. We're on hand for anything you need help with and to ensure that you enjoy our home's comfort and excellent location. The space Our house is a great choice for a cosy weekend getaway or even as somewhere different to work from home. Take advantage of our low season and mid week rates and explore Shaftesbury while it's quieter and maybe even more beautiful. Located around the corner from cobbled and picturesque Gold Hill you can't get much closer. Our rustic family living room has a comfy seating area with Sky TV, fibre WiFi with mesh network and a selection of books, games and puzzles for cosy nights in. Access your own Netflix or Prime account or use our guest account for Disney+. The double sofa bed can accommodate 2 guests. There's also a desk for catching up with emails and understair cupboard for storage. The country kitchen has a gas cooker, electric oven & microwave and a large American fridge freezer with chilled water dispenser and ice maker. There's basic cooking equipment and tea & coffee supplies are provided. The kitchen adjoins the open plan dining area, great for cooking and chatting. The dining area has views of the fern garden and the steps built with original materials leading up to the back garden. Large oak framed windows and houseplants provide the wow factor! The master bedroom has a double bed and wardrobe. There are French doors to the garden, looking directly upwards to the cottages of Gold Hill from your bed! The window looks out onto our 'green roof' of ferns and sedums. There's a further comfortable double bedroom to the front of the house with bedside tables and a chest of drawers. The third bedroom is most suited to children, with a bunk bed (which can be set up either as 1 bunk and 1 kids sofa or as 1 bunk and 1 pull out chair bed) and a chest of drawers. After a day's walking, luxuriate in a deep bath overlooking the 'green roof' garden or a refreshing rain shower in the double size cubicle. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided, along with a hairdryer and some bathroom essentials in case of emergencies. Enjoy our wildlife focused garden in all seasons. Our garden is home to bees, butterflies, bats, slow worms and pond life. **The steps and condition of fencing unfortunately make the garden unsuitable for guests with mobility issues and young children at this time.** We renovated our workshop into a sunny garden room with a carpeted floor, which you are free to use as a peaceful space to relax or practice yoga. There's also a desk and WiFi so it can also be used as a quiet work space (with a view!) We have a laundry room with downstairs toilet and hand basin, adjoining the dining area. There's a washing machine, iron and mini ironing board for you to use and a few useful bits and bobs in the cupboards - cleaning supplies and first aid kit etc. We're in the St. James area of Shaftesbury and have a private parking space at the front of the house. There are about 7 steps up to the house from the parking space. Free street parking is also available locally. Guest access You will have access to the entire house and garden, except for the attic, shed at the side of the house and the storage space behind the garden sunroom. Other things to note Health and safety-wise, the back garden steps and condition of fencing unfortunately make it unsuitable for young children at this time. For guests with mobility issues, not including the staircase to upstairs, there are 5 steps up from the car to the front of the house, 2 into the property and 1 to the kitchen / downstairs toilet. A double sofa bed can be made up in the living room to accommodate however there are no bathing facilities on the ground floor, only a toilet and hand basin. We love dogs and they've lived in our home for many years. They are very welcome here but must not be allowed on furniture or beds. Owners will be responsible for any damage or additional cleaning. Please pick up in the garden before you leave, bags are provided.
