Located about 25 miles from Shenandoah National Park, the cabin offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature, wineries, and some of Virginia’s most important historic landmarks. Originally built nearly two centuries ago, the cabin has been thoughtfully dismantled, restored, and rebuilt using traditional craftsmanship. Guests can walk on original wood floors, relax beside the stone fireplace, and experience the timeless character of an early American log home. Despite its historic roots, the cabin includes modern comforts such as air conditioning and high-speed Starlink internet—making it perfect for both weekend getaways and remote work escapes. The cabin is ideally located for exploring Virginia’s Blue Ridge and Piedmont region. Nearby destinations include: • Hiking and scenic drives in Shenandoah National Park • Historic downtown shops and restaurants in Culpeper • Wine tasting along Virginia’s Piedmont wine trail • The historic homes of the Founding Fathers: Monticello and Montpelier. No keys to lose or to return. This property provides secure, keyless entry with an August Smart Lock. Using an outdoor keypad, you can lock and unlock the cabin using the personal entry code issued to you for the duration of your stay. The cabin does not have a back-up power source such as a generator. (The cabin does have a wood-burning fireplace.) There is no grill or fire pit on the property . As an Airbnb host, I am required to disclose the presence of a firearm on this property. Over the cabin’s mantle, a gun is displayed. More information is below: 1) The firearm is over 100 years old; 2) It is unloaded; 3) There is no ammo in the cabin nor on the cabin’s property; 4) The firing ability of the gun has been disabled; 5) The gun is secured to the log wall using a locking, gun cable; and 6) The key to the locking, gun cable is stored off-site. Our primary home is just downhill on a farm that adjoins the cabin property. *The cabin’s Starlink router is plugged into an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) System, “CyberPower CP900AVR”. This UPS was the 2024 top, recommended pick by The New York Times’ Wirecutter website, “With five outlets on battery backup and 10 outlets total, this UPS can reliably keep your Wi-Fi network running for up to four hours in a blackout or keep your home-office setup powered long enough for you to save your work and shut down.” - Wirecutter.
