The space Cosy Character Farmhouse Annex – A Countryside Hideaway Conveniently located in the heart of the Cumbrian countryside, this beautifully converted annex is a charming and compact retreat – full of character, comfort, and thoughtful touches. Set within our home but with its own private entrance, the space is completely self-contained and separated by a secure locked door and panel, offering you privacy and peace throughout your stay. Designed with care and warmth, the open-plan bedroom and living area downstairs has a cosy, welcoming feel – perfect for curling up after a day out exploring. Upstairs, you'll find a charming bathroom and a compact but well-equipped kitchen with a microwave, air fryer, fridge, and kettle – ideal for simple meals and snacks (please note there's no oven or dishwasher). Exposed beams and rustic details add to the unique charm of the space, creating a lovely base for walkers, nature lovers, or anyone looking for a quiet escape. With the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, North Pennines, and Howgills all nearby – and great road links close at hand – this little hideaway offers the perfect blend of seclusion and convenience. A sweet and soulful stay in a truly special setting. Guest access The place has its own door, parking, and you will have the entire place to yourself. The stairs up to the kitchen and bathroom are quite narrow and turn. Other things to note The bathroom sink only has cold water. The kitchen is small and although it can be used to make a meal using the air fryer or microwave, it’s really designed for breakfast meals (tea, toast and cereal), or light evening meals. We always have families staying in our properties, so while we are happy to take bookings from groups, we don’t allow parties or loud music or other loud or disruptive activities. Please note that we believe life is too short to iron, your bedding will be fresh and clean but it may be a little creased. There is a connecting door into the farmhouse which is kept locked and also has a panel over it for your comfort and privacy.
