It offers a double bedroom, en-suite walk-in shower room, open plan living with log fire and a private patio. It's a wonderful situation at the head of the beautiful Gatine valley. The space Looking for a beautiful bolthole where you can escape the hassles of everyday life? Le Lavoir is a lovingly restored gîte for two in the grounds of the 15th century La Charpenterie, St-Loup-Lamaire. The original laundry bins are restored and form wonderful feature in the gite, mixing historic exposed stone walls with all modern amenitied. Exposed stone walls and tiled floors, coupled with a beautiful antique bed and historic original pieces, mean that the gîte retains its old-fashioned charm whilst the well-equipped modern kitchen area and stylish shower room provide every facility you might need for a relaxing holiday. Outside, your room opens on to a private patio with small hot tub. Relax and watch the stars! If you have special requirements or are look for something in particular, get in touch and we will do our best to help. Guest access The gîte is entirely self-contained and is for your private use. It has a patio with small hot tub and a private barbecue area with views across the orchard and local fields. You can be completely independent but don't forget to ask if there's anything we can help you with. Other things to note Keep the log stove ticking over to ensure the gîte is cozy in the depth of Winter (and we'll light it before you arrive if it's chilly). If you're not very familiar with log stoves, let us give you some tips when you arrive. More heaters are available if you need them. We include all the towels and bed linen in the price, so there are no hidden extras The rear opens onto a patio area where you can sip your early morning coffee as you plan your day or spend the evening stargazing over a glass of wine in the hot tub. ­ The night skies are wonderfully dark here and if walking’s your thing, head out of La Charpenterie onto miles of country lanes passing fields of sunflowers. The dishwasher and washing machine are in your kitchen area - please ensure both are empty on your departure. You may want to bring additional washing tabs with you. Note that this is a rural setting which is very peaceful but as you'd expect it experiences agricultural activity from time to time.
