Our home, situated on 50 acres of pristine Vermont forest, was originally built in 2001 and renovated in 2018. The land on which it is built has been in our family for 3 generations and features sweeping vistas of beautifully forested Vermont mountains. Lounge on the large wrap around deck as you barbeque your favorite meal, enjoy a beverage, take in breathtaking sunsets! This is a great place for families. Our work takes us around the world, but we cherish our visits back to the Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. The house sits on land which has been in our family for 3 generations. It was built in 2001, and designed to be a respite from our busy lifestyles. Our priority has not been to make it overly luxurious, but comfortable and relaxing. We are glad you're considering a holiday to this beautiful part of the country. If your planned travel is in November to April please note that you may require four-wheel drive vehicle to access the house which sits at the end of a winding 200 foot uphill driveway. Although we try to keep the driveway plowed, if you choose to travel without a four-wheel drive vehicle and can't access the house I am afraid we can not issue a refund. Guests have access to the whole house including fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room with 40" television, Roku, broadband internet access and direct access to deck and stainless steel Weber propane grill. One side of the two car garage has been reserved for guest parking. Also in the garage are 4 adult and 1 child size mountain bikes—feel free to use them! The main floor also features dining room seating for 10 and laundry room with washer and dryer, screened porch with picnic table and seating for 6 and master suite bedroom with full bath. Downstairs, you’ll find a second family room area with a sleeper sofa and fully rebuilt upright piano. There are also two other bedrooms—one with a queen size and the other a king size bed. The king bedroom closet also has a self-inflating air mattress and bedding you can use if necesasary. There is also a wide selection of board games in the entry closet door your enjoyment! Please be aware that we do not allow smoking or smokers in or around the property. We will be available through AirBnB app, telephone and email. The property manager (a family member) lives 5 minutes from the house and is available for advice on what to do in the area and for any additional questions. Glover is a great location, is centrally located with easy access to Greensboro, Hardwick, Stowe and Waterbury, all 40-90 minutes away. “If we don’t have it, you don’t need it”. That’s the slogan for the famed Willey’s General Store (https://g.co/kgs/s83kmC), located in nearby Greensboro. It’s the quintessential New England experience general store, with its ingeniously stocked hardware store (where you can get your fishing license (and advice), local produce, and, yes—Vermont syrup. Greensboro is also home to Lake Caspian, with its dedicated “beach”, ice cream stand, and frisbee-friendly park. The Blackbird Bistro (https://g.page/Blackbird-Bistro-VT?share) is a fantastic new restaurant featuring farm to table cuisine sourced from local the local community. Blackbird is a great place to relax at sunset with its outdoor fire pits and stunning views of endless Vermont landscape. Cocktails are not to be missed. The Highland Lodge (https://g.page/highlandlodge?share) in Greensboro is also a great indoor/outdoor venue with a relaxed vibe and special food and entertainment events throughout the week. A great place to meet new friends. Parker Pie (https://g.page/ParkerPieCo?share) simply can not be missed while you’re in town. The place serves amazing homemade pizza and other dishes and has a big selection of microbrews on tap, sports on television, the world’s friendliest patrons and staff and a family friendly outdoor picnic dining area that oozes Vermont charm. Oh—the other place you can’t miss the famous Hill Farmstead Brewery (https://g.page/hillfarmstead?share). Voted the best microbrewery in the world a few years ago. Hill Farmstead also has fantastic barbeque to match their excellent microbrews. Burke mountain, also nearby by attracts skiers (winter) and mountain bikers and hikers (summer) and often hosts music and food festivals—worth checking out. Other nearby attractions include Shadow Lake, with its very own sandy beach , the famous Craftsbury Nordic Center (https://g.co/kgs/vcKZCU), famed for cross-country skiiing and outdoor winter sports. Last, but certainly not least, Glover is a short 3-4 hour drive to a the fabulous Canadian city of Montreal, and 6 hours to Quebec. So in addition to Vermont’s natural bucolic beauty you can also sneak in a quick semi-European vacation to round out your experience! You will need a car to explore the areas and for groceries. If you are traveling during snow season please be aware that you will need a 4WD vehicle to get to the house and to area attractions. This is especially true from Dec- April. The house features Starlink high speed satellite broadband internet access, but cell service is spotty in and around the house. The house landland number is five-two-five-six-nine-nine-two. The house operates on a septic tank, so please take are to avoid flushing anything but toilet paper. Other materials such as baby wipes, sanitary napkins, non toilet tissue and paper towels should be disposed of in trash receptacles. We are pleased to allow guests the option of bringing pets (cats or dogs only), but respectfully request this be limited to no more than 1-2 pets not exceeding 50 lbs each. We expect guests to take responsibility themselves to clean pet soilage or hair before they depart otherwise we will charge an additional $50 cleaning fee. We do not allow hunting on the property.
