Moinhos Velhos Nature Healing Retreat: Twin Cabin

Located 12 km from Lagos, we offer this incredible opportunity to stay at our beautiful retreat centre. For over 25yrs we’ve hosted world renowned wellness programmes and we now open our doors for shorter stay guests to enjoy our special tranquil ambiance. We are next to the magnificent Barragem da Bravura and just 15 mins from Lagos with its fabulous restaurants, nightlife & attractions. All our rooms and cottages come with a private bathroom and we offer an outdoor pool and morning yoga. The space Nestled in a secluded valley with an abundance of quartz crystal naturally embedded in the Earth, Moinhos Velhos affords you the possibility to rest in a beautiful, energising and regenerative location. The site covers 16 hectares but is within an area of several thousand hectares of natural beauty so great for hikes or a stroll around the lake which is 5mins walk from our front door. The centre usually hosts dedicated juice detox and yoga retreats and is adorned with many Buddha statues, beautiful gardens, bird life, butterflies and peace! Here we go to bed with the silence of the stars at night and wake up to the songs of the birds in the morning. Beautiful. Previously the centre was an old mill house and several old mill wheels still remain. We host a morning yoga class for our guests at 8am, which is €10 to join. You are also warmly welcome to use the temple for your personal practice whenever it's not in use. We also have our own therapy centre where, subject to availability it is possible to book massage, acupuncture and inspirational healings treatments. There is a shared kitchen and dining area available for use, and every day we place a crate of veggies from our own organic garden which you are welcome to use by leaving a donation. We are a great place to visit if you are interested in holistic wellness as so many of our team are professionals in this regard. Richard in particular is also a great resource at pointing you in the direction of local holistic events if this is of interest to you. Please note the cabins also have two bathrooms, one for each inhabitant, and it is possible to push the beds together for couples. Guest access Guests are welcome to use the guest kitchen and dining room in the main house, pool, yoga temple and enjoy the gardens. The staff kitchen and lounge area in the main house aren’t available for guest use. Other things to note There is a restaurant ('Hello Goodbye') within 5 minutes walk of our property next to the reservoir. It's open 11-5pm Thursday to Sunday. There are also two other local cafe's within reasonable distance - in the village of Cotifo 5 mins drive away, or the larger villages of Odiaxere and Bensafrim which are 10 minutes drive away, Lagos with it’s beautiful beaches is 15 minutes drive, Aljezur is 30mins and Sagres 45mins. We are 1 hour from Faro airport. We are a great place in which to base and explore the Algarve.
