Description

Nestled in the picturesque Sangre de Cristo Mountains, our two bedroom one bath condo borders Cuchara Mountain Park and is the perfect escape for those seeking adventure or tranquility. Located at the edge of the San Isabel National Forest, this fully remodeled first-floor end unit offers everything you need for a private and relaxing getaway. Whether you’re looking to explore or just kick back and relax, our space is the perfect choice for your next vacation! The space THE SPACE: Welcome to our cozy 637-square-foot remodeled condo, finished with repurposed wood accents from one of Stonewall's original ranches, adding to its authentic and rustic charm. The living area invites you to unwind with a large couch, two chairs, and a modern touch floor lamp equipped with USB charging ports for your convenience. Enjoy the 50" Smart TV available in both the living room and the master bedroom for your entertainment. In the colder months, the wood-burning fireplace becomes the heart of the home. We provide a few logs to help you settle in for your first night. Step outside from the living room to a private patio where a two-person table offers unobstructed views of the surrounding forest. This outdoor space also has a small propane grill. The side deck, leading up to the front door, overlooks the woods, providing a tranquil, private retreat. Relax in our Adirondack chairs and let nature be your backdrop. The kitchen, though compact, is well-equipped and perfect for preparing meals for a family of four. While it may not be ideal for large holiday feasts, you'll find everything you need for everyday cooking, including a refrigerator/freezer, small oven/stove, microwave, toaster, French press, kettle, pots and pans, food storage containers, and utensils. We provide coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and a few pantry staples like oil, spices, and flour. Please note that while there is no dishwasher, a drying mat and dish soap are provided. The dining area offers seating for three with lovely views of the surrounding aspen and pine trees. In the master bedroom, you'll find a cozy king-size bed. The room is equipped with two nightstands, USB charging lamps, and access to a private patio where you can enjoy a view of the West Spanish Peak. The patio is furnished with a small couch and a fold-out table, perfect for a laptop or glass of wine. The second bedroom makes efficient use of space, featuring a queen-size bed with a twin bunk overhead, ideal for families traveling with children. Please note the twin bunk has a 100 lb weight limit. The removable ladder to access the twin bunk is located on the top mattress and hooks to the side of the bed as shown in the pictures. The laundry closet and full size washer/dryer are also conveniently located in this room. We have fully remodeled bathroom with all of the essentials. We provide a variety of amenities to enhance your stay, including children's books, board games, two pairs of snowshoes, sleds, mountain golf frisbees, a set of pickleball paddles, putt-putt golf balls and putters. Weather permitting and when there is enough snow, the CMP snow cat takes skiers/riders to the top of lift 4. This is a beginner, green hill with several runs. The new chair lift could be up and running by January. Please go to the Cuchara Mountain Park website for important info about the park, tickets, skiing/riding and rentals. You should find everything you need for a comfortable stay, but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. We'll do our best to address any issues promptly. Guest Access Information – Please Read Carefully! Our condo offers convenient self check-in with a smart lock. You’ll receive a personalized access code 24 hours prior to check-in. Parking: One parking space is available for registered guests. If you have two vehicles, please park one behind the other to allow room for other residents. Trailers and campers must be parked in the designated area provided by the HOA next to the condo. Road Conditions: Panadero Ave and the parking area near the condo are dirt roads, which can get muddy after snow or rain. While Huerfano County plows these areas, delays can occur in severe weather. Highway 12 is maintained regularly by the Colorado Department of Transportation, but be aware that driving up the mountain can be challenging during storms. **We highly recommend using a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle with good tires in winter conditions**. Snow removal: While the HOA plows the driveway up to the condo, it does NOT provide snow removal from the walkways or stairs. We have a snow shovel located on the master bedroom deck, should you need it. Important Notes: A fifth guest is welcome for an additional $10 per night. The condo comfortably sleeps four adults with a king bed and a queen bed. The single top bunk has a 100 lb weight limit. **You may bring one well-trained dog for a $50 pet fee, charged at booking. Pets must not be left alone in the condo unless crated, and they are not allowed on the furniture or beds. Please supervise pets on the patio, keep them leashed outside, and clean up after them. Doggie bags are provided under the kitchen sink if needed. Thermostat & Temperature Control: The hallway thermostat controls heaters for the hallway and bathroom. It is set to 55°F between bookings, but feel free to adjust it to your comfort when you arrive. There is no A/C, but opening both patio doors allows a pleasant breeze to flow through the condo in summer. Ceiling fans and an extra fan (located in the laundry closet) are also available. Wi-Fi & Connectivity: While the condo has Wi-Fi, service in rural mountain areas can be unreliable. There may be occasional outages, and we cannot issue refunds for any Wi-Fi downtime. Dining & Food Options: Cuchara is a small, seasonal town with only two restaurants. Bringing your own food is highly recommended. Cuchara Mountain Mercantile, within walking distance of the condo, serves excellent food and has a small store for essentials. Hours may vary depending on the season. For more dining options, La Veta is a 20-minute drive and offers restaurants, a brewery, and a grocery store. House Rules: No smoking, vaping, or drugs are allowed on the property. Please review our strict cancellation policy prior to booking. We adhere to this policy and cannot offer refunds or rescheduling outside of its terms. Possible Fees for Rule Violations: Unregistered or unapproved guests: $50 per person. Trash or food left outside (due to wildlife, including bears): clean-up fees start at $50. Violation of pet rules: fees start at $350. Smoking inside or on the premises: fees start at $350. HOA quiet hours are from 10PM - 8PM
