The space *** Your stay, your experience *** The Pilgrim was designed to offer a genuine return to basics while respecting the environment. Electricity is intentionally limited, but you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable stay: an auxiliary electric heater, a mini fridge, an espresso machine, and a two-burner cooktop. 👉 IMPORTANT NEW FEATURE A modern sanitary building, accessible year-round, is now available for your use. It includes a shower and a toilet and is shared with the two other chalets on the site: The Hermit and The Enlightened. This addition preserves the chalet’s rustic experience while providing an extra level of comfort, no matter the season. In summer, you can still enjoy the outdoor shower, and for those seeking a fully immersive experience, the original facilities remain available for a complete return to basics. This responsible approach has earned us eco-friendly certification from Les Pages Vertes, an independent recognition highlighting our environmental commitment. 🌿 🚨 Damage Protection – Peace of Mind Included 🚨 To offer you a seamless experience, accidental damage protection is included through a fixed nightly amount. It replaces the traditional security deposit and covers eligible accidental damages up to USD $50,000 for qualifying stays.* Very few properties offer this level of protection. The result: ✔️ No security deposit required ✔️ A simple and structured process in case of an incident ✔️ A smooth, elegant, and worry-free experience Because true luxury also means peace of mind. 😇 Although the protection generally replaces the security deposit, we reserve the right to require an additional deposit in specific situations evaluated on a case-by-case basis. However, you now also have access, if needed, to full sanitary facilities nearby, allowing you to adjust your level of comfort based on your preferences. While there is no Wi-Fi, good cellular coverage is available. That said, we strongly encourage you to fully embrace the disconnect by placing your phone in the phone box. 😉 This is the ideal place for outdoor lovers, hikers, and families looking for calm and simplicity. Imagine yourself, breathing in the fresh air after a day in the forest, with no TV, no screens, just you and nature. *** Nights under the stars *** Located in the heart of the Mont-Mégantic International Dark Sky Reserve, The Pilgrim promises unforgettable evenings around the fire, under a sky illuminated by thousands of stars. *** Nearby activities *** - Parc national du Mont-Mégantic for hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing - Mont-Mégantic Observatory for stargazing - Frontalier trails 3 km away for scenic hiking and backcountry skiing - Cheese dairies, microbreweries and farmers' markets to explore - Less than 3 km away, access to the mountains: Montagne de Marbre, Mont Saddle and Mont d'Urban. However, you now have access to a heated sanitary building open year-round, including a shower and a toilet, shared with the neighboring chalets. An outdoor dry toilet remains available near the chalet for those who wish to enjoy the full rustic experience. The outdoor shower (available from June to September) is also still accessible. There's a mini-fridge, but no cooking stove. So you'll have to use the wood-burning stove, the electric griddle (2 rounds) or the outdoor fireplace for your cooking. There are no lighting fixtures, but rechargeable lanterns and candles are provided. The cottage has only 1 bedroom on the mezzanine, with 2 double beds and mattresses covered with hygienic covers: you'll need to bring your own bedding. All in all, a true old-time rustic experience! Guest access The chalet is entirely private for your use, while certain outdoor facilities (including the heated bathhouse, outdoor shower, and 2 EV chargers) are shared with the other chalets on the property.
