Description

Located 100metres from sand between your toes, Blueys Beachcomber is a fully restored 1960's home setback from the street frontage and is wrapped in greenery. You wake listening to the sound of the surf. Please read the detailed notes as we have some neighbouring construction work occurring behind the property Breakfast on the front balcony with the morning sun breaking through the tree canopy. Welcome to Blueys Beachcomber The space Blueys Beachcomber originally started its life as an interpretation of the infamous Beachcomber designed by Nino Sydney in the 1960's. They reflect the lifestyle of the times, open and relaxed. This one has been altered over the years, but with its recent restoration (including being full insulated) it has bought back the key elements that makes these homes sought after. Blueys Beachcomber is a relaxed beachhouse - filled with a collection of Danish and Australian Furniture, it has been kept simple and clean to reflect that easy beach side holiday. It is a small home, but perfect for that family time away and getting back to what is important - expect the UNO or Monopoly to take over the dining room table and a good swathe of beach sand on all the timber floors - it's the beach!!! A good red on the terrace also goes down very well. Of course we supply all your linen and bathroom towel requirements - with the beds made on your arrival. Just don't forget your favourite beachtowel!!! THE BASICS Insect Screens on all the windows and west terrace doors Internet and WIFI (no mobile reception at the house but log into the internet and access the TELSTRA network and calls as normal Washing Machine/Dryer, Dishwasher, COFFEE MACHINE!, first aid kit (just in case), in-ceiling speakers, and a nice big fridge. Electric heaters and a combustion fire for the colder months. GROUND FLOOR ENTRY HALL - (buckets for wet clothes, beach umbrellas, beach rugs, balls, scooter (for a quick run to the shops) BEDROOM 3 - with twin king single beds in a larger room and direct access to the garden (perfect for the kids or a bit more privacy) LAUNDRY with combined washer/dryer, laundry tub, powders, and tub. Access to the second toilet. The high chair and baby fold up bed are stored in here too. UPSTAIRS FRONT UNDERCOVER BALCONY - facing east with a BBQ and outdoor chairs REAR BALCONY - facing west (current construction site) but set off boundary by 10 metres - looking up to the escarpment MASTER BEDROOM - Queen bed, access to west terrace, direct bathroom access BEDROOM TWO - Queen bed, access to west terrace KITCHEN - fully equiped including a coffee machine with fresh beans in the fridge LOUNGE - 5 seat "wegner" sofa, TV with satellite and internet access DINING - Danish Dining Table and French "Prouve" chairs - seats 8, wood burner fireplace, access to both terraces PARKING -2 cars undercover with electric car charging, another 2 in the driveway GARDEN - loads of lawn areas, outdoor shower with hot water, private and flat, The cul-de-sac is very quiet and hosts regular activities including cricket on the street - a very family friendly area with the 100 metre walk to Blueys Beach. Guest access The whole of the property is available for your use and no need to reserve a spot at Blueys Beach, Boomerang Beach or the patrolled and children friendly Elizabeth Beach. Other things to note Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing major earth works to the land behind the property as the new subdivision is constructed. Whilst in the long term the impact is negligible, the current works may be disruptive. (we have no calendar of the works). We understand the works are programmed from 7am to 4pm Monday to Friday. As such, we have reduced our rates for the foreseeable future and the property is offered with this knowledge. We will update this message if information becomes available. If you contact us prior to booking we can ask one of the neighbours for an update to pass onto you prior to confirming your booking. We are a beachhouse, and with that comes all the connotations of the traditional relaxed Australian Beach house. Only book this house if you really want a break, some peace and quiet and don't mind sand between your toes. If you are after a resort holiday or the absolute of luxury, try Hayman Island....
