Celebrate the holiday season and take a break from the hustle and bustle at our family home in Monticello, KY. Nine generations of our family have enjoyed this property. Parts of the original cabin are incorporated into the current structure. Three outdoor seating areas, a fire pit, games and a wooded area let you enjoy the outdoors. The interior sleeps up to 8 and has everything you need! The home has been lovingly cared for and enjoyed by our family. We hope to share its gifts to you! The space Location • The house is located 2.5 miles from Beaver Creek Marina. • It is situated in Parnell, which is approximately 7 miles from Route 90. • The location is also 10 minutes from Monticello. Sleeping Arrangements • The listing is for up to 8 people for comfort. • Bedroom 1 has 1 queen size bed. • Bedroom 2 has 2 queen size beds. • The family room has a new queen sleeper sofa. • The living room has a new queen sleeper sofa. • A camping cot is available. • Mattresses and memory foam toppers are new and firm. Personal Care Areas • Main Bath with bathtub/shower • Bathroom/Laundry room • Washer/dryer • Utility sink • Commode • Shower Kitchen Fully equipped with: • Utensils • Cookware • Small appliances • Serving ware • Towels • Cleaners Indoor Comfort & Entertainment • The bedrooms and living room have been remodeled. • The remodeled areas feature locally sourced red oak hardwood floors, solid core doors, and insulated interior walls for noise suppression. • The stone fireplace and wood-stove may be used. • The house is heated and cooled via a zoned heat pump/mini-split system. • Each bedroom and the main part of the house have their own thermostats for personalized comfort. • The family room has a 55in smart TV with YouTube TV for live TV. • Log-in to your personal streaming accounts on the TV. • A Nintendo Classics gaming system is available. • A stock of coloring books, crayons, board games, books, and puzzles are available for your enjoyment Outdoor Comfort & Entertainment • The house has three porches/patios. • All porches/patios have comfortable seating for outdoor enjoyment. • The back landscaping is designed to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. • There is a propane grill available for use. • Lights are provided for nighttime entertaining. • A firepit with seating is available for chilly evenings, along with cut and stacked wood and roasting tines. • Bluetooth-pairable and linked outdoor speakers are positioned around the back of the property. • Several yard games (badminton, Spike Ball, croquette, ring ross, etc.) are available for use. • A short both steep hike through the back woods leads to Harmon Creek, where there is a secluded flat area that is good for relaxation. • Watch out for poison ivy and oak, as it grows in abundance. • Wildlife, including stray cats, deer, bobcats, coyotes, and black bears, roam the area. • Kentucky is home to several indigenous venomous snakes, including Copperheads and Cottonmouths. mouths, Maybe you will see something fun!! Parking • The property has a large circular gravel driveway. • There are multiple ways to park a boat or trailer on the property. • Depending on the length of the trailer, it may be possible to make the turn on the circular driveway. • There is an area to back a trailer into the side yard or turn around and pull out forward. • It is also possible to park a trailer at the bottom of the drive. • If desired, the driveway security camera can be turned on during the stay. Guest access Guests will have full use of the property. During your stay, access is provided by an individualized keyless entry code. There is a small basement area that is accessible from the back yard. All water shut-off and the hot water heater are located in the basement. This is not to be accessed unless necessary due to inclement weather. Other things to note There is a red hand pump located near the back patio. The well has not been tested lately. The pump does work when primed and can be used, but should NOT be used for drinking water.
