Other things to note We rent our historic, thatched half-timbered house, which we have furnished lovingly. The house is situated in an idyllic location at the end of a barely busy dirt track with only 3 houses. It belongs to a listed ensemble of heather-framed houses and is located on an approximately 2,100 m² property with several hundred-year-old oaks, which is available to you for private use as well as carport. Dogs are welcome here. Due to the edge of the field, the outlet starts right by the house. No smoking in the house. Events, parties and bachelorette and bachelor parties are also not allowed. No fitters! You enter the house via a decorative lone door. On the ground floor there is a spacious living and dining area with open kitchen (53 m²). The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric stove with ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. All dishes and various appliances (toaster, raclette, etc.) are available. With a fully automatic coffee machine, you can prepare different specialties of coffee at the push of a button. In the center of the living area, a large living area invites you to linger in front of the beautiful tiled stove. A high-quality home organ is available for hobby musicians. There is also a large flat screen TV here. From the XXL armchair "Lisbeth" you can enjoy the unobstructed view of the garden and the adjacent fields. It is a wonderful place where - even for two - you can find peace very comfortably. Another, bright room has a large high-quality double bed (Hülsta). Furthermore, there are 2 armchairs here and offer the opportunity to relax and a view of the spacious, secluded terrace. On the ground floor there is also the new bathroom with hanging toilet and walk-in shower. On the 1st floor, a room with 2 single beds leads to a light-flooded large bedroom with a double bed (Hülsta). Furthermore, the 2nd bathroom is located on the 1st floor. New from 2024, a large, very high-quality, XXL beach chair is available for you on the terrace. On the side terrace by the house, we have a large garden seating area for you with seating for 8 people. Here you can comfortably have breakfast alfresco, have coffee or just sit together. The large garden is quiet and well grown in. Far away from any hustle and bustle, the garden is an oasis of tranquility. Here you will find many places where you can just sit and enjoy nature. You are also welcome to use the garden to play with your children. Football, badminton or bocce, anything is possible. Garden furniture is available for you to use. In the former sheepfold, we have bicycles for you with which you can make wonderful excursions into the heathland. Surroundings: With its unique charm and perfect location between the banks of the Elbe and the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg, St. Dionys is located in beautiful surroundings. On the one hand, the heathland and pine forests characterize the place with 500 inhabitants, on the other hand its typical architecture, which is predominantly with thatched half-timbered houses. The center of the village is the St. Dionysius Church, which was already founded in 795 by Karl, the King of the Franks. Remarkable is their impressive furrowing organ. In the immediate vicinity of the vacation home is one of the most beautiful and traditional golf courses in Germany (according to Golfmagazin among the top 10 German golf courses). Due to its beautiful location in a nature reserve, it is not only interesting for golfers, but can also be used for wonderful, long walks. Versatile fishing opportunities and beautiful cycling and horseback riding trails are available. You can experience peace and quiet when you start on many idyllically located hiking trails that start directly from the house around the towns of St. Dionys, Barum, Wittorf and Brietlingen. Thus, the Way of St. James, Via Scandinavica, which connects both the Scandinavian countries as well as Lithuania and Poland with the Camino de Santiago in the middle and south of Germany, runs directly along the house. A scallop attached to the house shows the pilgrims the way to Santiago. Immediately on the southern outskirts of the village is an extensive forest area, in the north there are fields, meadows and rivers waiting to be discovered in walks. Everything is within walking distance of the house. The municipality of Barum, about 2 km away, also has a swimming lake with sunbathing area. All shops for everyday needs can be found in nearby Bardowick. If you want to leave the car behind, St. Dionys has public transport connections. The attractive shopping city of Lüneburg with its historic city center is about 13 minutes away by car. The metropolis of Hamburg can also be easily reached in around 30 minutes via the A39 motorway.
