The Casita at St Francis de Sales Church, Hatch, NM - Experience the History
Description
Have you stayed overnight in a Church before? This is your opportunity. Your lodging in the Casita is attached to the now deconsecrated St Francis de Sales Church, surrounded by a large Spanish courtyard, garden, and a private patio and parking area. Experience the adobe spaces as built in 1860. The church compound is walled and gated. We are located 1 1/2 miles southeast of Hatch in a colonia called Rodey. Look for the bell tower from Hwy 185 and begin your experience here. The space Built in 1860, this property is full of surprises. PLEASE watch your step. There are uneven surfaces seemingly everywhere! There is a two-step entrance into the Casita itself, and a one step exit into the courtyard from the Casita. Guest access You are able to explore the entire property. Other things to note Since most of the Church property was built in 1860, floors are uneven, the grounds are uneven; so there are obstacles to work with and pay attention to. While this adds to the experience and ambiance, it is something that you, as a guest, need to know. Also, we have a kitchenette that will not accommodate a huge meal prep, but is adequate for small meals preparations, re-heating and storage. We have a two-burner hot plate, a microwave, a refrigerator, a toaster, and cooking pans, utensils, plates, silverware, glassware, and napkins. There is no oven. If you ever need something, just text me during your stay.
