Relax in the High Prairie of Lyle, Washington on 5 acres (one acre is fully fenced). Morning coffee with hummingbirds on the patio, or cozy up next to the wood burning fireplace at night. We are in official dark sky territory, the stargazing is truly incredible. The space The Gorge is very special to us; we wanted to create a space that offers a respite from all of our busy lives and knew we’d found it the second we walked into the Highlands House. The home is on 5 acres with stunning territorial and Mt. Hood views from every angle of the house both inside and out. **BURN BAN IN EFFECT** Dining We built the dining table and benches to create a cozy dining nook. Table comfortably seats 6. Outside you will find a dining table with two benches that will also comfortably accommodate 6 adults. The breakfast bar has 4 stools. Kitchen We love to cook so you will find a fully stocked kitchen (and we really mean stocked). Salt, pepper, and olive oil are on hand for guests use. Drip coffee maker, French press, burr grinder, and electric kettle are available for your caffeine needs. Coffee is provided alongside sugar, syrups, and agave. We do not provide creamer. Wine glasses, cocktail glasses, cocktail shaker and tools are stocked in the house. Kids plates and cups provided. Bathrooms The home has two full baths with shower/tub. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided. Hand soap at all sinks provided. Bedrooms Master upstairs has a king bed and en-suite bathroom First floor includes two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen bed. Fun! There are games, puzzles, and cards in the house to encourage slowing down and unplugging. The TV room has a 65 inch smart TV with PlayStation with Apple TV. There is also a stocked collection of DVD’s. There is a Sonos Bluetooth speaker for music, and a record player with our favorite records to enjoy. There is high speed internet. We’ve worked remotely from the house and have had no issues with both phone service and WiFi. Outside The back sliders lead out to a fully fenced acre of land perfect for running around. There are 6 chairs and a patio table for lounging There is a gas grill for outdoor cooking with propane included Outside of the enclosed acre is another 4 acres for exploring! Walk in the mornings with a cup of coffee to catch a view of the deer or enjoy the 360 degree sunset views in the evenings Location We are in the High Prairie area of Lyle, about 15 minutes outside the town of Lyle. We are 30 minutes door to door to both Hood River and White Salmon/Bingen. GPS provides easy to follow directions to our home. Please note we are about a quarter mile up a gravel driveway. Other things to note: Our checkout instructions are simple, we want you to be on vacation! Our fantastic cleaners will take care of the rest!
