Description
Sitting 125 feet from the east shore of Echo Lake is the Nest at Camp Skoglund. A cozy cottage for two with all of the amenities you will need. Your deck provides a wooded view of the lake and we offer a fully equipped waterfront for your relaxation and fun on the water. A fire pit is also available. If you need lodging for more than 2, please inquire about our other cabin, Pop's (also on AirBnb). We are open seasonally starting in early June until Columbus Day or later depending on the weather. The space Camp Skoglund was a camp for boys started by my father in 1956. When he retired he turned camp into a family camp with five rental cottages. Most of our guests returned year after year including many of our former campers. I have lived here year round for the last 20 years after leaving my corporate career just to be here and run camp with my dad. In 2024 I sold a portion of the property while maintaining two of the rental cottages and my own home plus most of the waterfront activity area and woodland. The property allows plenty of space for privacy and peace and quiet and our location on the lake faces due west affording the most beautiful sunsets. We are twenty minutes west of Augusta in the famous Belgrade Lakes region. Easy access from Portland and the Coast. Pop's (listed on AirBnb) is my other rental cottage about 100 feet up the hill from the Nest. When accepting reservations, my priority is maintaining a peaceful and private atmosphere for everyone here. Renting The Nest and Pop's together it is possible to house a total of six guests. Guest access The entire camp is available for your use - docks, kayaks, canoes, paddle boards - we are fully equipped for the ultimate Maine experience. We have several docks for swimming, boating, and sunning. Private spaces are easy to find too. A fire pit is located at the waterfront - wood provided. The occupancy of the Nest is two and no other guests are permitted at any time. I also rent Pop's cabin which is located up the hill from the Nest. We have 185 feet of shoreline and a number of docks so you can be sure that you’ll enjoy a nice private experience when using the waterfront and all of the other amenities. Other things to note The Nest is part of a small camp community consisting now of my home and one other cottage. There is one large sixty foot long waterfront area with two docks. Another separate dock is about fifty feet away. Most often, you will have the dock to yourself - there is plenty of room for privacy and peace and quiet. WATER - our tap water is from a drilled well and is tested for safety every year. It’s perfectly safe to drink and better than bottled!
