Description
Sitting 125 feet from the east shore of Echo Lake is the Nest at Camp Skoglund. A cozy cottage for two with all of the amenities you will need. Your deck provides a wooded view of the lake and we offer a fully equipped waterfront for your relaxation and fun on the water. If you require lodging for more than two, please inquire. We are open seasonally, starting in early June until Columbus Day or later depending on the weather. The space Our 68 year old camp (formerly run as a boys camp) offers a family atmosphere where you will have a true woodland experience in the best lake district Maine has to offer. The coast, the mountains, Portland and Freeport are a little over an hour’s drive. Most of our guests have returned every summer for decades and we can promise a very happy and friendly atmosphere. Owned by the same family for almost 70 years - we love what we do. Note- along with my other cabin, Pop’s, it is possible to rent the entire space and thereby house a total of six people. Guest access The entire camp is available for your use - docks, kayaks, canoes, paddle boards - we are fully equipped for the ultimate Maine experience. We have several docks for swimming, boating, and sunning. Private spaces are easy to find too. The occupancy of the Nest is two and no other guests are permitted at any time. New for 2024 - I have partially retired from running all of the cabins here at camp. Guests in the Nest are likely to be the only ones here. My other cabin, Pop’s cottage, will be rented periodically. We have 185 feet of shoreline and a number of docks so you can be sure that you’ll enjoy a nice private experience when using the waterfront and all of the other amenities. Other things to note The Nest is part of a small camp community consisting now of my home and one other cottage. There is one large sixty foot long waterfront area with two docks. Another separate dock is about fifty feet away. Most often, you will have the dock to yourself - there is plenty of room for privacy and peace and quiet. WATER - our tap water is from a drilled well and is tested for safety every year. It’s perfectly safe to drink and better than bottled!
