Description
Charming coastal cabin overlooking the marsh. This airy cottage is the perfect rustic coastal mix. There is an immediate relaxed and welcoming feel as you are greeted with an expansive view over the estuary marshland. Only minutes to a boat ramp, the Sapelo Island Ferry, Darien, Butler Island and Shellman Bluff, the Marsh House makes it easy to enjoy the recreation and history of the area. Bring your boat! Enjoy the fire pit and large porch as you watch the sea birds over the marsh. The space OUTDOORS If you bring a boat, feel free to rinse your boat with any of the outdoor hoses. There is an outdoor fish cleaning station, and a chest freezer on the back porch for your catch of the day. Large yards perfect for setting up a volleyball net or other outdoor games for the family. The front porch, screened-in porch and back patio (with gas fire pit) all provide plenty of outdoor living space for watching sunrises and sunsets, birdwatching, or just relaxing. There are beautiful white egrets and herons to watch swoop over the marsh and roost on picturesque driftwood. INDOORS Whether you are the Captain of the ship, or the Skipper of the schooner, you will enjoy either of our two suites. Both the Captain's room and the Skipper's room are spacious with a closet, dresser, bed side tables, outlets on both sides of the beds. They each have their own roomy full bathroom attached (with tiled walk-in showers). Both rooms look out over the marsh view and feel quite private. The Captain's quarters has a california king bed, and the Skippers Quarters has a queen size bed. Two couples can enjoy the Marsh House with both having privacy and neither feeling they got the less desirable room because both are equally nice and unique. One adult can sleep comfortably on the sofa if needed. It does not pull out, but after removing the back cushions, it makes a handy twin size "bed". We have extra sheets if you need to use the sofa. The Captains bathroom has a second door that opens from the common area so no one has to go through the bedroom to use the bathroom. The fully stocked galley kitchen has both a Ninja drip pot-coffee maker and a small Keurig so have your coffee your way. Eat simply at the kitchen bar or enjoy your meals outdoors on the screened in porch picnic table. Guest access We want you to relax and feel at home. No need to tiptoe and wonder about opening this drawer or that cabinet - the house is yours. If you find binoculars or a deck of cards, use them! Sit on the porch reading one of the paperbacks from our tiny library. See if you can find the Bellville shrimp boats through the telescope. Everything in the house is for your use. If you bring your boat, feel free to use the outside hoses to rinse your boat. There is also an outside fish cleaning area, and a chest freezer on the screened in porch to store your catch. Other things to note Our host book contains everything from the wifi password, check-out instructions, and "where you will find" list to our restaurant recommendations, directions to the boat ramps and our favorite things to do suggestions. All at your fingertips. Please look through our host book when you arrive for a smoother stay. While you are on vacation, our neighbors are not and have work and school schedules to keep. This home is not intended for loud partying. Please use the golden rule and treat this as the authentic experience it is.
