Captain’s Cottage in Willoughby Spit exudes the charm of beach cottages of the past. Up-to-date bathrooms and a small renovated kitchen make this a charming cottage with modern conveniences (dishwasher, disposal, ice maker, full-size fridge, small drink fridge). Comfortably sleeps 5-6 people max (2 queens, 1 full, 1 twin). The back porch, tiki bar and firepit are made for relaxing! The quiet beach is a 5 min walk (1.5 blocks) & the outdoor shower washes the sand away at the end of a perfect day. The space Captain’s Cottage is a private cottage that’s 1.5 blocks from the beach and only 1.5 blocks from the Willoughby boat ramp. It’s a perfect spot for a quiet beach getaway. It does not have water views from the property. This is not a party house or one to pack with people (only 6 people allowed inside the house at any time). It’s a small quaint cottage for those who want a relaxing, fun getaway. Perfect trip scenarios for the cottage: - traveling nurses (close to several hospitals) - anyone temporarily stationed at Norfolk Navel or Little Creek bases - military college attendees - families visiting their Norfolk-stationed children - families visiting their children who attend ODU - 3 to 4 girlfriends for a week away (or a long weekend) - two couples (with no children or 1-2 little ones) - one couple to get away from it all Guest access The entire cottage and yard are for you to use privately. Other things to note This is a small cottage perfect for a quiet beach getaway, a place to stay near the local navy bases and ODU, or to attend concerts at the Norfolk Scope or Virginia Beach Amphitheater. This is not a “party house” though the back porch and tiki bar are perfect for a chill evening cocktail. The max persons allowed in the house at any time is six people and noise levels are monitored to be respectful of neighbors. It’s a great little place for girls’ weekends, couples getaways, military family visits to on-base sailors, or parents visiting their children at ODU. It is not a place for Spring Break antics or youthful tomfoolery. Parties are not permitted and will be cause for removal of guests without refund.
