The space This home is the ultimate, private retreat just 3 miles from downtown Frankenmuth. Surrounded by pines and maples, you can relax on the patio to enjoy the Cass River view. This historic home sits atop a bluff overlooking a bend in the river with views from almost every room. The oldest parts of the home date back to the 1800s. The great room in the back was the original entrance to the house and features green waxed wood paneling, original wood flooring and a fireplace built with river rocks. The sitting room by the kitchen has an original stucco fireplace in the corner that was part of the original kitchen. The two front guest rooms were added on in the 1920s and have maple wooding flooring and built in closets. The sunken living room and upstairs master bedroom were added in the 1990s by the previous owners. All together, the home is beautiful mix of old and new, with upscale transitional decor. On the back of the five acre property are steps down to a landing where you can launch kayaks for a relaxing paddle. A running creek empties into the Cass at a perfect fishing spot for bass, carp and other native fish. The front of the property features one of the oldest outdoor pools in Michigan, holding 60,000 gallons (available in season only), multiple fruit trees and a grape vineyard. Guest access The entire home is open for guests except the basement and garage. Other things to note Our property has one of the oldest outdoor pools in Michigan.
