Description

Wallowa Lake is one of our favorite places to vacation with our kids and grandkids! We’ve spent countless valuable hours here and we are excited to share our favorite place with you and your family! Our home is comfortable for people of all ages. We bring our parents here and love that they have complete enjoyment of the full space inside and outside. They can sit on the deck & enjoy the family playing in the lake and get to be a part of the memories our kids and grandkids are making! The space Our home was thoughtfully designed for all ages. It was important to us that it be functional for bringing our parents to the home as well as comfortable enough that the parents of our littles could also relax and enjoy their time knowing that the littles were safe. Open the entry door into our entry. A few steps further and you’ll be in the large open floor plan that includes the living room, dining table, and kitchen. It was important to us that nobody was left out of the fun regardless of what they were doing. The kitchen has all the modern amenities with stainless appliances and a large gas range. The dining table seats 6 and has one of many stunning views of Wallowa Lake. The living room offers comfortable seating, a wood burning wood stove (safety gate provided) with additional floor to ceiling windows letting all the beauty Wallowa Lake has to offer. Our guest bedrooms offer queen sized beds with plenty of additional space for your extra luggage in the oversized closets. A guest bath offers a large shower stall. The master bedroom and ensuite bathroom are at the other side of the house offering a bit more privacy for those that like to go to bed early or sleep in. In the master, enjoy another dcomfortable queen sized bed with additional Wallowa Lake facing windows. The private bathroom offers a large soaking tub and shower. In the laundry area, enjoy the stack washer and dryer perfectly sized to keep up on the vacation laundry. An additional half bath is near the entry which is conveniently placed for your use while enjoying the outside area. Descend down a flight of stairs to our private and modern boat dock. Perfect for the lazy days enjoying the lake. The large lake facing deck offers a propane bbq and plenty of outside seating with a shade umbrella. Regardless of how you spend your day, it is our hope that you find the peace and tranquility that Wallowa Lake offers. Guest access You’ll get to enjoy every inch of our home and property privately! Other things to note Please don't take our "fine print" below as anything other than helpful advice, but please do take it seriously. We want you to have a successful and relaxing stay. Here are things we think are helpful to a successful vacation: *SUPPLIES: A starter pack of kitchen/bathroom/utility supplies will be provided. If you run out and need more, you will be responsible for those. *POWER OUTAGES are a thing up here. Frequent at times. We aren’t privy to an ETA anymore than you. Please refer to the Pacific Power website for ETA on outage and restoration. BBQ: Seasonally available Memorial Day thru October. Tanks are provided. WILDLIFE: Please do not feed, engage in play, pet or disturb the wildlife. Best enjoyed from a distance regardless of how friendly they appear....they are moody little critters! CABLE: Not available, but the TV is smart so bring your streaming account info PARKING: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles. NO TRAILERS. FREE trailer parking for boats over on the South Side Marina or north end boat launch.. FIRES/FIREWORKS/SMOKING/VAPING ETC: Not allowed WIFI: Rural wifi is spotty at times. No refunds unfortunately. Refer to the 3 ring binder on how to reset the wifi router. RURAL LIVING has a lot of advantages. But some things like appliance repairs, service calls, take a bit more time up here please alert us ASAP so we can get the ball rolling. If it isn’t an emergency, but needs attention, refer to the 3 ring binder on how to handle this. DOCKS: Seasonally available Memorial Day - October but putting them in late or pulling early are considered acts of nature and do not qualify for refunds. PETS: We are not a pet friendly home and we don’t make exceptions. *Please note while no pets are allowed a few times a year we do bring our own dog. Just an FYI for those with allergies. We do take every care to clean after our stay. A/C: Please do not leave running when you aren’t in the home. Please make sure all windows and doors are closed while using. Upon departure, please return home to temp setting specified in 3 ring binder. SPEAKERS: Voices and songs travel easily over water. Please be respectful of all neighbors and keep the volume down. Dock Safety: We ask all of our guests to review these safety rules before using the dock. Safety is Rule Number One. Dock use and water activities are the responsibility and at the sole risk of the guest. Conditions on the lake can change quickly due to boat traffic, wind and storms, and changing lake levels and temperatures, so always use your best judgment, be vigilant and keep everyone safe. Use the walkways when going to/from the dock. Please stay off the grass and the rock bank. Both are slippery and unstable. Wading from the rock bank is not safe. Enjoy wading at the state or county park. Use appropriate footwear while on the dock. It is slippery when wet, and hot when the sun is out. Please, no running or rough-housing. Children 10 years old and under, and all non-swimmers must wear a USCG approved personal flotation device (PFD), when on the dock, swimming or fishing. Only use those of the proper size. Please bring your own PFDs. Should you forget yours, purchase PFDs in Joseph or Enterprise or at the marina. Children must be supervised on the dock by a responsible adult at all times. Please, no diving or jumping in. The level of the lake changes and it can be shallow, especially later in the summer. Underwater boulders and rocks are hazards. If you decide to dive or jump in, you do so at your own risk. As safety recommendations only: always make sure the depth of the lake is safe before you go in. Be careful not to slip or bump your head. Always jump away from the dock and only toward the middle of the lake. Never dive or jump between the dock and the shore, or into the boat well. Wallowa Lake is usually colder than warmer, so acclimate yourself to its temperature before you get in. It is always “exhilarating.” Due to boat traffic and lake depth, be aware and swim parallel to and near the shore. Have an observer when swimming alone. No swimming after dark. If you hear thunder or see lightning, immediately get out of the water and off the dock and into the house. In case of an emergency there should be a life ring or throwable flotation device on the dock. If not, please let us know. Kayakers and Paddlers must obey state and local safety regulations. Thank you for your cooperation
