Woodland Cottage

This 530 sq ft newly renovated open concept cottage is nestled amidst towering redwoods, inviting you to reconnect with nature. There is a sister rental "woodland retreat" located on the property which can be booked separately or together for your family retreat. Just 10 mins south of Mendo Village, you’ll be perfectly positioned to experience all the area has to offer! Whether you spend your days exploring or simply stay put and meander our creekside trail, lasting memories are guaranteed! The space The cottage features many thoughtful and cozy amenities such as a pillowtop queen (murphy) bed in the living area as well as a double mattress in the loft. We use 100% cotton bedding and towels and the kitchen is fully equipped for any culinary endeavor. The inside bathroom has a shower but if you prefer a soak, there is a fully plumbed clawfooted tub outside, nestled amidst the redwoods. The fenced in back area allows for your pup's enjoyment and safety while you lounge or bbq on the wrap around deck. PLEASE NOTE pricing is based on double occupancy, with one queen bed. If you plan to utilize the loft bed, make sure to note this in your reservation request so we can ensure it's made up for you. The loft is not recommended for young children due to height and ladder access. An additional $25 cleaning fee will apply if loft area is used. Dogs are family and we’re so happy to welcome yours! Well-behaved, house-trained dogs (maximum of two) are permitted for an additional fee of $25 per pet, per night. A $50 flat fee has been added to your initial booking and the balance, if any, will come in the form of a separate payment request based on your stay length and number of dogs. Guest access The property is situated on 2 very private acres surrounded by redwoods with a meandering creek below the cottage. Access is quite easy as we are just a mile off of Hwy 1. There is a 2 bedroom rental home on the property as well so, although there are no shared spaces (besides the parking area), the main house is visible as it sits approx 75ft from cabin (see photo in listing). Easy digital entry via a custom lock code sent prior to arrival. Other things to note Our private dirt roads are tenderly maintained and susceptible to damage by excessive traffic. We have wildlife, families on foot and tiny goats to consider so, for these reasons, was ask that you keep your speed to 5 mph when passing by our neighbors at the farm. Now for the legal jargon... Booking a stay with us immediately assumes you've both read and expressly agree: Occupants personal property, including vehicles, are not insured by Owner against loss or damage due to fire, theft, vandalism, rain, water, criminal or negligent acts of others, or any other cause. Owner does not insure against personal injury to Occupants due to any reason other than the condition of the Premises. Owner recommends that Occupants carry or obtain insurance to protect Occupants and personal property from any loss or damage. Occupants agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Owner and Owners Representatives from all claims, disputes, litigation, judgements, cost and attorney fees resulting from loss, damage or injury to Occupants and Occupant's personal property.
