The Lamu Suite
The Lamu Suite
Description
Retreat from a busy day to our East African-influenced apartment, 20 minutes from the city. This delightful living space has timber and slate finishes, with a beautifully furnished living & dining area. Double bedroom with a queen-sized bed. Spacious bathroom. Fully equipped kitchen. Modern appliances. Off-street parking. Set back from the road in Brisbane's leafy suburbia yet just 450m to the train station. Easy access to key attractions, Mt Cootha, Indooroopilly, the cycle way & airport. The space The B&B is on the ground floor of a two-storey Queenslander. The suite is on one level - no stairs. Guests walk from the carport on a flat, paved surface into the apartment. You'll find a complementary jar of our lovely honey and a bottle of wine in the kitchen for you to enjoy and take home. One last point - we ask that everyone keeps the red gate closed to protect your best friend (and ours). Guest access Guests have a private and separate entrance to the apartment. You'll find outdoor seating facing onto a little garden area, and if we aren't at home, a large verandah area is accessible. Dogs are welcome and can roam the garden unsupervised, although owners accept responsibility for their safety. Other things to note Trains: We are adjacent to the Brisbane—Ipswich train line. Nobody has found this intrusive, and we find the regular trains fade into the background rhythm of River City Life. We have a practically private station 450m away. It’s the best way to explore Brissy. You can get anywhere in 20 minutes and easily combine a train transfer to the RiverCat ferries at Toowong (Regatta terminal). Bees: We keep honey bees; you will find a free sample to taste when you arrive. If you have a bee sting allergy, please avoid approaching the hives. Make sure to turn off the lights in the carport after use to prevent attracting the bees to the house. Keeping the windows on the kitchen side of the house closed at night is also a good idea to avoid attracting bees while the internal lights are in use. Kumi Dog: Our Collie Cross female is spayed and uber-friendly. She is well trained and responds to standard obedience commands like "Sit", "Wait", "Down", or "On Your Bed", and "Drop It". The best way to get her to stop doing something is to use a command tone and say "Uh-Uh". She will very likely pay you the odd visit to the apartment. If you don't want her inside, please point to the door and command (Kumi Out!). She will get the message.
