FRONT PAGE: A Book-Lover’s Retreat

Located on Front Street in Bloomington, Illinois, the “FRONT PAGE” is the perfect place to cozy up with a good book and enjoy the perks of a historic neighborhood near Downtown Bloomington. We are book lovers! We outfitted the home with tons of books and reading-related decor for you to enjoy, too! Whether you need a place for the weekend or a long-term stay in Bloomington-Normal, we hope and expect you will enjoy the charm, historical feel, and literary comforts of our bookish home. The space Our home offers one very spacious bedroom with a queen bed. The couch in the living room also can be converted into a pull-out queen bed. (A portable screen/divider can offer additional privacy for guests sleeping on the pull-out couch bed.) The bedroom and living room are carpeted and have blackout curtains. The bedroom has a large dresser. One shared closet in the hallway is accessible to all guests, as is the full bathroom. The large dining room offers plenty of space to chow down on either take-out food or a meal you prepare yourself. The kitchen offers ample counter space to prepare and serve food, and it is fully stocked with cookware/bakeware, cutting boards, and the essentials. We have a 2-in-1 coffee station for Keurig pods and drip coffee. We keep a variety of pods on hand. Guest access CHECK-IN AND KEYS: Guests staying at Front Page will receive keys that open both the front and back doors. Both entrances to the home are accessible from the porches--one large porch on the front of the home, and a smaller porch situated near the back of the home. Guests are able to enjoy self check-in because access to the keys is available via a key lockbox. PARKING: There is plenty of free street parking available directly in front of the home. Parking on the street is easiest. There also is one dedicated parking space available directly behind the home, and this space can be accessed via the alley running behind the house. Front Street is a snow route in Bloomington. On the rare occasions when there might be a parking ban during a major winter snowfall, guests will need to park in the alley. (We will try to notify you if this is the case.) EXTERIOR STAIRS ONLY: To access the Airbnb home, guests must walk up a short set of stairs to access either of the two porches on the building, which is where the FRONT PAGE unit's two entrances are situated. Once inside the unit, guests will not need to use any stairs in the accessible areas. AREAS OFF LIMITS: Guests will not have access to the unfinished basement in the building. The upstairs apartment on the second story of the building is rented by long-term tenants and will not be accessible to Airbnb guests. Other things to note DOWNTOWN BLOOMINGTON: Our home is your gateway to Downtown Bloomington and all that it has to offer. You're only five minutes away on foot from tons of terrific restaurants (Anju Above, Brass Pig Smoke & Alehouse, Epiphany Farms, great pizza at Lucca Grill) and bars (Daddio's, Elroy's, Euphoria, Fat Jack's, Killarney's, Maguire's, Mulligans, Nightshop). Great nightlife! AREA SPORTS AND ENTERTAINMENT: By staying at the FRONT PAGE, attending events at Grossinger Motors Arena, Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA), Bloomington Ice Center, or the Castle Theatre is as easy as taking a five-minute stroll to and from those Downtown Bloomington venues. The home also is centrally located in the greater "Twin Cities" area, mere minutes away (by car, bike, or bus) from all of the other area popular destinations in Bloomington-Normal for cultural, entertainment, and sporting events. Illinois Wesleyan University's campus (Shirk Center, Horenberger Field) is a short three-minute drive. Uptown Normal and the Illinois State University campus (including Braden Auditorium, Bone Student Center, CEFCU/Redbird Arena, Hancock Stadium, Horton Fieldhouse) are only a five-minute drive. Heartland Community College (the Corn Crib stadium) and Champion Fields are 10 minutes away. AREA EMPLOYERS: The FRONT PAGE is easily accessible to all of the other major employers in the area, including Afni, Bridgestone/Firestone, Carle BroMenn Hospital, COUNTRY Financial, Ferrero, GROWMARK, OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Rivian, and State Farm Insurance. SHARED BUILDING, SEPARATE RESIDENCES: This Airbnb home is located on the ground floor of a two-story building. You will have access to the entirety of the first floor of the home. The second story of the home is a three-bedroom apartment occupied by long-term tenants. There are two entrances to the Airbnb unit, and these are entirely separate from those to the upstairs apartment. You may hear the upstairs tenants walking around in their unit. MINI-LIBRARY INSIDE HOME: The living room book stand is a Free Little Library. You're welcome to take a paperback book with you if it strikes your fancy, or you are free to leave one behind if you wish. Please do not remove the hardcover or coffee table books. You are welcome to read them during your stay, but please do not remove them from our home.
