La Gran Vista is a self-sustainable eco-friendly farm. It is situated on 12 beautiful acres of land on top of a hill with amazing views of the surrounding valleys and mountains: including Mountain Chirripo, the tallest point in Costa Rica. The space Hello Friends! La Gran Vista, located just outside San Isidro de General in South Pacific Costa Rica, is an Environmental Conservation Project where students, volunteers, and visitors can stay a few nights to relax and enjoy the views or for money saving options and the want to learn how a tropical organic farm functions, visitors can help out on the farm for a cheaper price. We are more than just an eco-lodge, we are also an Educational Institute where individuals can learn how to milk a cow, harvest a mango tree, or use medicinal herbs whether in a large group or solo. La Gran Vista gives everyone an opportunity to learn about life at its most basic form and exist in a fully sustainable community. The views of the surrounding mountains and valleys are what give you the complete La Gran Vista experience. We are happy to receive travellers, volunteers, student groups, families, and environmental interns from abroad. In addition, eco-tourism organizations send groups of volunteers to La Gran Vista every year to participate in the project. We offer opportunities for undergraduate groups, ASB, graduate students, and researchers to pursue specific interests or field work pertaining to sustainability and organic farming for those who are interested. Students looking to pursue a career in sustainability will have the opportunity to have practical experience that will be valuable to their future endeavors. We believe that the best way to preserve our Planet is for everyone to be active and lend a helping hand to Mother Nature. The problems are right in front of us, from greenhouse gases to massive landfills, pesticides in our food, and unclean drinking water, making it EVERYONE’S responsibility to wake up and live a more responsible life. We have 12 acres of land that guests can use to their advantage as well. During your stay Donald and/or Xinia will be available if needed throughout the time of your stay. Donald speaks both Engish and Spanish. Other things to note All meals are included within the price. For $60 a night, you can relax and enjoy the views during your stay. For $45 a night, you get to experience the eco-farming life by helping out and learning some new skills during your stay. This may include helping with the animals, harvesting plants, and more. We are a farm, so there are lots of animals. We also have a tropical forest within the 12 acres of land that you can walk through. There are toucans and other wild animals that you may be able to see during your stay. We can arrange cheaper prices if you are coming as a larger group or staying a longer period.
