Our Tea Cozy Cabin is a one room cabin with kitchenette and bathroom, ideal for a single traveler, a couple, or a small family. There is a full-size futon in the main room, a full-size mattress in the loft, and if you really want to squeeze it, a queen-size inflatable mattress in the living area. The Village of Cloudcroft is nestled within the Lincoln National Forest in the Sacramento Mountains. Summer and winter nature, sport, and cultural activities abound. Tea Cozy is approximately 200 square feet of cozy living space. It's an easy walk to The Lodge for golf, spa services, and excellent dining. The village center of Cloudcroft offers quaint boardwalk shopping, which features Southwest and Native arts and crafts, as well as modern & unique gifts and decorative items. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, with lots of hikers, birds and the occasional elk or bear sighting. Alamogordo is a 20 minute drive down the mountain and offers a movie theater, sports complex with year round swimming, a zoo, and the Air & Space Museum. White Sands National Monument is within an hour's drive, and provides opportunities for dune sledding and nature hikes. Sunspot Solar Observatory is within a 30 minute drive and is open to the public. In winter, Cloudcroft boasts its own Ski resort, Ski Cloudcroft, for beginning skiers & snow boarders, along with other winter & nature-related activities. Hiking opportunities abound. Ruidoso is a 45 minute drive from Cloudcroft, and offers ski/snowboard opportunities for the more advanced. Ruidoso Downs is a haven for racehorse enthusiasts, and Inn of the Mountain Gods, a casino operated by the Apache Nation, is within an hour's drive. There is a maze of gravel roads in the Mountaintop Community for hiking, as well as The Depot with longer trails. It is interesting to hike one of the Depot trails to view the old railroad trestles. Please note, there is a small TV for viewing DVDs, but no TV service. We do, however, have WiFi and excellent cell phone reception.
