A quaint, country cottage tucked away in the picturesque village of Hurworth, just outside of Darlington. A perfect holiday retreat for a couple or a peaceful escape for professionals. Attached to The Bay Horse, an award winning 15th century coaching inn, this accommodation retains many original features whilst being tastefully modernised to prioritise the comfort of guests. The space A hidden gem of Hurworth - far enough from the centre of Darlington to feel a real sense of escape, yet close enough to easily connect with the rest of the world. Entering the property you are welcomed into the cosy living room. Beamed ceilings, indoor fireplace, soft furnishings, and foodie books aplenty. Kick off your shoes and cosy up on the couch, in front of the fire or open a bottle of wine and indulge in a good book or film. There is a modest dining table perfect for two to enjoy a candlelit dinner. Through into the kitchen you'll find a much more modern space with dark cabinets, polished worktops and farmhouse sink. Basic essentials are provided including tea, coffee, milk and sugar. A selection of alcoholic drinks are also left in the property and are available to purchase during your stay. Head through into the relaxing courtyard and surrounded yourself in lavender and candlelight. A beautiful space for dining alfresco or to enjoy a tipple outdoors when the great British weather allows. Back inside and upstairs you'll find the exquisite bedroom. Country chic with kingsize bed, and walk in shower. Through to the ensuite bathroom you'll find a large freestanding bath, perfect to unwind in after a hard day. Floor level sensor lights give a softer ambiance through darker hours. Guest access Access to the property is granted through key collection at the pub next door - The Bay Horse. There is a front and rear door to the property with electric charging point available in the pub car park to the rear. This is locked at 11pm on an evening and reopened at 9am on a morning. As a guest of Keepers Cottage should you need to leave between these times we reccomend parking out the front instead. Other things to note Upon check-in at The Bay Horse we will take card details to hold on file for any additional items consumed from the cottage during your stay. If you would like to dine at The Bay Horse during your stay, we recommend booking in advance to ensure there is a table available. Any bills from The Bay Horse can also be charged to your room.
