Arts and Crafts
Description
The Arts and Crafts Cabin is our most recent renovation project with a nod to its former use as a spacious sleeping quarters and an Arts and Crafts space. The original floor and ceiling are signature to our commitment to historical preservation (see our Boathouse Cabin for a similar feel), yet it is our largest cabin conversion yet with an open floor plan and a killer deck and screened in porch. Dog friendly but please see our notes on the additional pet fee. The space You'll enjoy lake views from almost every angle inside the Arts and Crafts cabin. There is a screened in porch, private fire pit, and the kitchen has all the basics you need to prepare meals. There is also a gas grill for your use. We provide fresh linens, blankets, and towels. We have multiple cabins on the property, and the Arts and Crafts building is our largest rental. (Note: canoe, dock, and gas grill are seasonal - available late spring to late fall) Nestled in the hills of the Northeast Kingdom, Wapanacki was originally founded as a summer camp in 1938. Established as a camp for blind children, and later run by the Girl Scouts, Wapanacki has been reborn as a four-season retreat. Guest access Wapanacki is comprised of 230 acres of woodland, plus a 25-acre private lake for swimming and non-motorized boats. There are miles of trails to explore, perfect for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, and hiking and biking in the summer. There is no Wifi IN the cabin, but we do have a "wifi zone" on property. It is reliable for calls & getting online, but NOT for streaming movies or Zoom calls. Kayaks and canoes are available at the beach for all guests. There is also a gas grill on the deck of the Arts and Crafts cabin late spring to early fall. You will have access to a shared gas grill on the porch of the main clubhouse, located at main camp. The porch has picnic tables late spring to early fall. This is also where our Wi-Fi zone is located. The interior of the clubhouse is private and you will not have access. Other things to note The Arts and Crafts Cabin is located near the seasonal Lakeside log cabin, also available on AirBnB. We have a total of six cabins for rent at Camp Wapanacki, so you may have the entire property to yourself, but other renters may be there too. Get in the camp spirit and say hello! The maximum number of people who might be at camp is 22 (including you and your party) and there is plenty of space for everyone to keep safe distance and enjoy the lake and the trails. If you are interested in coming with friends and renting more than one cabin, please let us know! Wapanacki is the perfect place for friends and families to spend time together, but each stay in your own safe and clean space. NOTE: We do have a wi-fi "zone" on property on the Clubhouse porch but please be prepared to be unplugged while you are in your cabin. NOTE to those bringing DOGS: We do encourage you to bring your dog, but please note that we do have a fee of $100 per dog. We ask you to leave your pet fee in cash on departure in the provided envelope. Sorry, we do not allow cats. WINTER: The roads to camp are plowed by the city of Hardwick and they do a great job! Our main camp road is plowed by our awesome caretaker. That said, we recommend having a 4-wheel drive vehicle when visiting in the winter months. For those who plan to snowshoe: Please stay on the snow while wearing snowshoes; do NOT attempt to walk on the stairs or porches of any building while wearing snowshoes or other shoe attachments with spikes such as “Yak Tracks”.
