Unwind and relax at our peaceful 2br lakeside retreat on beautiful Drews Lake in Linneus, Maine. Modern appliances including stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, mixer, and coffee maker. Main bedroom has a king-size bed w/ flat-screen TV, DVD player, & 150+ DVDs. Second bedroom has a double bed. Full bathroom w/ sink and shower. Other amenities include an enclosed porch overlooking the lake with sunset views, attached deck, aluminum dock, hammock, and fire pit. Perfect getaway! The space 3-season camp features full kitchen with all modern appliances, living area, master bedroom with king-size bed, and second bedroom with a double bed. There is a bathroom complete with a shower that has water pressure I wish I had at home! There is a newly-built enclosed porch overlooking the lake, and an attached open deck if you’d like to sit in the sun. Outside is a fire pit, and a stairway leading down to an aluminum dock on the water. On clear nights, the view of the stars from the dock is breathtaking, and the loons can be heard throughout the night communicating to each other around the lake. The camp is also equipped with a brand new remote-controlled heat pump, which provides plenty of heat during cooler temperatures. ALSO, PLEASE BE AWARE THIS IS A RURAL, SEASONAL CAMP THAT IS INTENDED AS A PLACE TO "UNPLUG", AND THEREFORE THERE IS NO WIFI OR CABLE TV (although there is a flat-screen TV in the bedroom with many DVDs.) Shut off your phones, unplug from the news, and enjoy the lake! If you're bringing kayaks to fully enjoy the lake, be sure to paddle around the islands just to the southwest of the camp and keep an eye out for the lake’s famous turtle that routinely sits on rocks there. He (or more likely she) is perhaps the lake’s most popular resident, and is very old (possibly older than any of us). Please just observe him/her from a distance and don’t get too close. Check out the additional photos section for a pic of the turtle. Also, please note that while the lake itself is public, the two small aforementioned islands are privately owned, and the owners do not want anyone to venture onto them. Because the islands are posted with signs, you would be trespassing from a legal standpoint. Guest access All rooms are available to guests. There is a storage shed on the property that is not accessible to guests. Other things to note Please note that this property is not the best choice for small kids. The camp sits up on a fairly steep incline overlooking the lake. Be mindful that this is a lakeside property. If you are accompanied by children, we ask, and highly urge, that they wear life preservers and be in the presence of an adult at all times when near the lake, especially on the dock. The lake depth at the end of the dock is around 6 feet, depending on the current water level. DROWNING IS ONE OF THE LEADING CAUSES OF CHILDHOOD DEATHS IN THE UNITED STATES. The fire pit is available for guest use, you’ll just need to bring your own firewood (we stopped leaving wood out there because it just gets wet and eventually rots). Firewood can be purchased at several nearby stores, including the grocery store depending on the season. If you're traveling here from far away, you are undoubtedly aware of the ever-present risk of flight cancellations, illness, lost or stolen luggage, etc. Therefore, travel insurance is highly recommend, which can be purchased either independently or through Airbnb.
