Charming Cotswolds luxury two bedroom cottage.

Nestled in the charming village of Blockley, this traditional Cotswolds stone cottage is a perfect country retreat. It has a luxury master bedroom on the top floor, a second room with single/double bed, a bathroom with shower and a cosy inviting living space with a well stocked kitchenette. In winter you can snuggle up in front of the fire and in summer enjoy breakfast in the sunny courtyard. The house dates from around 1780 and is built on three floors with narrow steep winding staircases. The space Our charming Cottage was built around the end of the 18th century. It is listed to protect its history. We have furnished it with high-quality, original, locally sourced items and we hope that you will enjoy sleeping in the luxurious main bedroom with high quality sheets and cosy bedding. The bathroom is small, but well equipped with a good shower and large fluffy towels. The main lounge has lots of pure wool and sheepskin and old pine and a log burner to keep you warm. The kitchen is tiny but fully equipped. We want our guests to feel that they are treasured and provided with the best. The cottage is near the south end of the High Street and is an easy walk from the fabulous artisan Café and shop in the centre of Blockley. It is surrounded by beautiful walks and is a two minute walk from the ford. Blockley is known for the filming of Father Brown, particularly for the church which was built in the 12th century. Nearby are the lovely towns of Stowe and Morton in Marsh. Chipping Camden is also delightful as are so many villages around. If you want to shop/visit somewhere a bit larger, Cheltenham and Cirencester are not far. Cirencester being a particularly charming town with a lovely market. These have many beautiful shops and cafés. We are constantly stunned by the incredible number of lovely pubs serving really high-quality food. The list is endless, including the Old Butchers in Stow, the Bull at Charlbury, The Boxing Hare near Chipping Norton the Fox at Oddington, the Wild Rabbit in Kingham, the Potting Shed in Malmesbury. For luxurious meals, we love the restaurant in the Thyme hotel and the restaurant in the Fish hotel. There are beautiful garden centres nearby such as Burford Garden Centre and Daylesford Farm shop. Guest access The whole house is for guests. You can park on the wide pavement outside the front door if no one else else is parked there. (Please don’t park in front of the other houses and leave plenty of room on the pavement for pedestrians to pass by). Otherwise there is plenty of street parking. Other things to note Our house is most suited to couples who would like a beautiful peaceful retreat surrounded by beautiful walks and has fabulous cafes and gastropubs nearby. Couples with one or two small children may also enjoy the house, but please be aware that it is not child proofed eg steep stairs with no gate and no socket guards. We do not have a cot but can get one if you would like us to. IMPORTANT:- the house has its original staircases which are very steep, windy and narrow and maybe challenging for some guests. You can generally park right outside the house on the wide pavement. The space is usually free, but if not, I’m afraid you will have to park on the road. (please don’t park in front of the neighbours houses and leave plenty of room for pedestrians to pass). If the electricity trips, the fuse box is next to the microwave.
