320 Water View and Access Retreat - Fiddlers Green

Fiddler's Green is a peaceful retreat with 2 BR+ Loft (2nd LR), 2 Ba. This getaway on the water features wraparound decks and views of the Chesapeake Bay, Piankatank River, and Kibble Pond. This has been a well loved place our family has enjoyed for over two decades. From high open spaces, to easy water access off NEW private dock for summer activities on the water. Relax in the hammock, set up the fire pit, pull out lounge chairs, or rock on the deck overlooking the water. The choice is yours. The space This home is a beloved place, and has a warm eclectic, bohemian feel. With two private bedrooms and a loft (noted as 2nd Living Room in listing) you have lots of sleeping options featuring firm beds and ceiling fans in every room. Bedroom 1 on main level is spacious with a king size bed. This room has easy access to the hall bathroom (Not attached to the bedroom) complete with tub and shower. On the 2nd floor, take advantage of a queen size bed on upper level with attached bath, and private deck. Need 2 single beds? The open loft off this space comes complete with a day bed with trundle creating space for 2 more guests. This area is a wonderful reading nook and even has a roll top desk for remote work options. The loft has access to the private bathroom through a hall door, and is open to below. We like to call the small kitchen a "one butt kitchen." It comes complete with Keurig and complementary K-cups, microwave, toaster oven, and dishwasher along with electric stove/oven combo. We've crammed all the pots, pans, and utensils you need to cook a delicious meal. One of the little quirks in our one butt kitchen is that it's so small, the freezer door does hit the wall when you open it. Even though it doesn't have a full door swing, it can fit most freezer items in it, but it won't easily fit a thanksgiving turkey! The open living room dinning room space has high wooden ceilings, ceiling fans, and AC/Heat as well. Enjoy streaming movies on the TV, or utilize the free wifi for your own devices. The wood burning stove is great for winter nights. The sun room provides another great reading nook, work space, and is full of games. Garage space below the house has washer/dryer - beach chairs, umbrellas for the private beach access, hammock to hang between trees, hammock swing for upper covered deck, and lounge chairs. You can also utilize the fire pit, gas grill, and the charcoal grill. Like any garage that stores a lifetime of things, there is a bit of clutter. But guest accessible items should be easily identifiable. As you explore the house you will come across some family treasures like my grandfather's Buddha collection, my grandmothers music stand full of sheet music (She used to teach piano), and my other grandmother's flamenco dancer painting. There's a few pictures of my grand parents scattered throughout the house as well. You will also see some knick-knacks and textiles from my travels around the world. I've put most of the pictures and items away, but left a few out so it captures my eclectic style, and feels like home when I come to stay. We hope you will see these as lovely memories, creating a unique vibe and not as clutter. Outside you have access to a newly rebuilt private dock with a 21’ expanse to tie up boats. There is about 4.5’ depth at the T-head of the dock. There is also a lower platform for easy access to your own kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards, and you can even rent jet skis locally. Guest access There is ample parking in the gravel driveway both as you pull into the driveway or around the side by the garage. But much easier to just park by the main stairs on street side of house and leave the driveway by the garage for lounge chairs, fire pits, and more. Please stay on the gravel as we don't want anyone driving on the septic. When driving in the circle (Cherry Dr.) to and from the house, please drive 5 miles an hour to keep the neighbors happy. There are actually 2 small private beaches on the bay side for residents and guests. (you.) THE FIRST beach you come to is a .5 mile walk from the house. The SECOND beach is another .3 mile walk further along the road. There are limited parking spaces at the beaches. Please use provided parking passes, and beach flags so that the residents know you are allowed to be there. See more details on directions in the house guide. Other things to note We do have security cameras for safety and security. They are located on the deck with view of both exterior doors on the main level, and stairs, as well as dock and garage doors. Use of the dock is at your own risk. While there is a security system in the house, there is no need to set it during your stay. Please remember no parties, and quiet hours begin at 10pm to 8am. We do have neighbors who live on the island year around and we want to respect their peace as well.
