Our modern, eco-friendly Savuka Lodge is your perfect getaway to enjoy hiking, fishing, kayaking, casual walks, sampling Tassie’s wines and local produce or hunting for Lady Aurora when meandering in this serene location. Only 50 mins drive from Launceston or the ferry in Devonport and 15 mins from Deloraine. The space Welcome to ‘Savuka Lodge’, our newly built, custom-designed Airbnb home, which opened for our guests’ enjoyment in late 2024. We trust you will enjoy being among our first guests to enjoy these modern and new facilities. 'Savuka Lodge' is built as an eco-friendly independent house with a clear focus on passive heating, such as double-glazed windows and a concrete floor that warms the house. The large windows in the house are specifically designed to ‘welcome’ the stunning views into the house. Every room offers you a spectacular view of the lake or mountains. This spacious cottage consists of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open plan lounge, dining room and kitchen space as well as a laundry facilities. There are two substantial bedrooms. Both bedrooms have radiator heaters to provide focused warmth to each room. You can enjoy stunning views of the nearby lake and mountains whilst relaxing in bed! One bedroom has a queen size bed and a large desk, chair and bookshelves. This working section of the room is an ideal spot to complete your ‘work away from home’ and is a focussed area to write that novel in peaceful surroundings. This bedroom is adjacent to a bathroom (shower, basin and toilet). The other bedroom has two king single beds, which can be joined to provide guests with a king size bed. This room is connected to an adjoining ensuite bathroom (shower, basin and toilet). The laundry area includes a washing machine and electric clothes dryer for guests’ use. These facilities also include laundry powder, an iron, ironing board and clothes airer. The kitchen is fitted with an electric stove, oven, fridge and microwave and has the usual necessary kitchen utensils for a comfortable stay. The lounge area has comfortable two- and three-seater sofas. The dining room table can be extended to seat 4 people. This living area has a large digital television. A substantial heat pump provides suitable cooling and warmth which permeates throughout the cottage. Free EV car charging is available to guests on request. Guests can enjoy an early morning breakfast or late afternoon rest on the patio, surrounded by stunning mountain and lake views, active bird life and quiet serenity. The fire pit is a welcome attraction in the communal area between both cottages, providing a lovely view of Huntsman Lake. In addition, a gas BBQ and camping chairs provide our guests an external social space to enjoy the beauty of the Western Tiers. Babies and children are most welcome guests. A portable cot with sheets, a highchair, feeding utensils and toys are available upon request. This modern sunny cottage is ideal for those who desire a break from their hectic lifestyles and who wish to enjoy time to ‘meander’ in nature. Our space at 'Huntsman Cottages' consists of two independent cottages. Both cottages, 'Fefo's Rest' and 'Savuka Lodge', may be jointly booked for guests that may require more space for group and family gatherings. As your hosts, we live on the property in a separate enclosed dwelling, making it easy for us to assist you quickly should you need it. Guest access Guests can access the house using a key safe at the main door. There is a motion sensor light above the door to allow safe access.
