Welcome to Anchor Haven! Make unforgettable memories at our charming newly remodeled beach cottage located within a stone's throw to the shore. Relax while enjoying the ocean views and beautiful sunrises from the two story porch. Located in a desirable, quiet neighborhood of West Haven CT and within walking distance to the beach, pizza, liquor and deli. Anchor Haven sleeps 8 guests comfortably. One bedroom and a full bathroom are located on the first level, with no stairs access. The space Lounge and unwind in the backyard, grill or just sit by a cozy fire in the Solo Stove. Located just 10 miles from Tweed Airport and 7 miles from downtown New Haven, this central location offers easy access to a wealth of attractions. Downtown New Haven is home to museums, shops, and restaurants, including some of the nation’s best pizza—our favorite is Sally’s. With convenient access to New York City and southern New England, you can take a train to the heart of NYC or enjoy day trips to Boston or Newport. For nature enthusiasts, explore Connecticut’s pristine beaches and the natural charm of New England. There’s also much to do in town, with the PEZ factory located only 4 minutes away! Guest access The entire home and yard is for your enjoyment while you stay. There are 2 kayaks and life jackets. Please be cautious and use at your own risk, watch the current as there can be rip tides. There is one small step to enter the home but, if needed, we can add a ramp for a step free entrance. Please let me know when you reserve. In addition, for your convenience, a full bathroom and bedroom are located on the first level of the home. Other things to note The beach is located within 200 steps from our cottage. Although the beach is public and no permit is required to enter, it’s not very crowded near our house. Many say it’s like having a private beach! There are no parking lots or lifeguards located near our beach house but you can walk farther down to left or right if you would like to be near lifeguards. Parking in the driveway for up to 5 cars. Please don't park on the grass. A permit is required to park on the street from May 1 through September 30. Therefore, do not park on the street because your vehicle can be ticketed or towed. We welcome your well behaved dog with an extra small fee. There are bag dispensers in the back and front yards for cleaning up after your dog. Please dispose of in the large garbage cans in the back or front of the house. Thank you. The TV has many free movies and live tv with the Xfinity Stream app. If you choose to log into any of your streaming accounts, please remember to log out before you check out. Garbage pickup is on Thursday. Therefore, a neighbor will come on the property Wednesday to take the garbage and recycling cans to the road. He will return the cans on Thursday after pickup. There is a ramp for the front door that allows for no step access. Please let me know at check in if you will need it for your stay.
