Other things to note North Beach House is situated within a historic part of Stornoway - built in approximately 1847, it is one of the towns oldest buildings and its classical architecture shows remnants of a time when fishing and the herring industry were at the centre of the island’s prosperity. The building was restored and renovated in conjunction with Historic Scotland in 2006.
