Doukani village house with amazing mountain view

Doukani is a unique, old stone build village home, in K. Chorio. Surrounded by vineyards, entirely renovated with swallows flying around all day long. In the evening you can enjoy the fabulous starry sky or notice a hedgehog running around. It lies at about 700m.Temperature is 7-8 degrees cooler than in the city. You can enjoy some stunning views from the terrace. Perfect for a peaceful romantic holiday, with rustic charm and modern comfort. It is an idyllic escape in the mountains of Troodos. The space The picture of the main entrance shows an ancient door, around 200 years old, surrounded by lush bougainvillea flowers. The door is antique. Doukani is naturally cool in summer and warm in winter thanks to its thick stoned walls. It has a picturesque view and gives inspiration to those who want to write, paint or sing. It is an ideal place to find calm and serenity. Guest access We always welcome our guests in person or if we are absent we leave a key. Guests have the possibility, to enjoy the big terrace, which is situated above the Doukani house . This is a common area with the host where you can have more sunshine, read a book or relax with a cup of coffee or tea if you wish to do so . Possibility to order a village breakfast or brunch. Other things to note How to get here: Drive to Kalo Chorio from Limassol, go through the villages of Ayia Fila, Palodia, Paramytha and Gerasa. As soon as you leave Gerasa you pass by the beautiful evergreen forest of Ayia Paraskevi , there is Maramenos tavern on our left. After two kilometers you reach Kalo Chorio. In such a village noone ever gets lost; All you have to do is to ask around ,people will guide you and explain where 'Vounaros' is! this is the name of the highest part of the village. Or simply give me a call. The neighboring villages are Zopygi, Louvaras, Ayios Pavlos and Ayios Constantinos. The inhabitants of these five villages work in the fields, growing vegetables and fruit but mostly cultivating vineyards for the production of Commandaria: This is an ancient dessert /aperitif wine with a flavor as rich as its history. It is originally believed to have been given its name by crusading knights in the 13th century, but to have first been made up to 5,000 years ago. Apart from Commandaria, locals also produce Zivania (traditional drink) amazing olive oil or rose water. You can walk through orange groves and vineyards and enjoy the beautiful landscape . To visit the nearby villages you will need a car or a bike! There are some beautiful nature trails to explore in the area, such as the one in Ayios Pavlos, 5minutes away. It is a homemade , organic meal with local products and excellent olive oil. The Troodos mountain around 1978m high, is an ideal destination, just 50 minutes away, where you can enjoy the dense forest with its picnic areas and have fun at the ski tracks during winter. There are picturesque villages, mountain trails for hiking and cycling, forest parks, churches and monasteries, wine villages, museums, waterfalls and dams, picknick areas and adventure parks.
