The Boathouse Osmington Mills

The Boathouse was originally built as boat storage for the New Coastguard Cottages ca. 1905. It is situated in a secluded position next to the South West Coast Path giving door step access to coastal walks to Weymouth, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. If shorter walks are more favourable, its less than a 5 minute walk to the pebble beach and the Smugglers Inn pub, a pretty thatched roof country pub – once the headquarters for 17th Century smugglers. The space The Boathouse is a characterful cottage arranged over 4 levels tucked away in a peaceful location with a garden and offers views over the surrounding fields. On entering the property you will find the hallway, bathroom and Bedroom 2. Bedroom 2 sleeps up to three people. There is a single bed and a bunkbed. The top bunk is only suitable for a child or small adult. This room has a wardrobe and bedside cabinets. The bathroom has sink / toilet / bath. There is a shower over the bath. Stairs lead up to the open plan kitchen / dinning room. There is seating for up to 6 people and a well equiped kitchen. From the dining room you access the landing with a short staircase up to Bedroom 1, and another short staricase down to the lounge. Bedroom 1 looks our over fields and has limited sea views. It sleeps up to two people in a double bed. The room has wardrobe storage bedside cabinets. The spacious lounge provides access to the rear garden via double patio doors, and has two sofas which can comfortably seat 5 people, a TV with Freesat and a DVD player. The rear garden is on 4 levels, with access provided to the first three levels. The garden has table and chairs and a secluded seating area. Guest access Full access to the property is provided other than access to the top level of the garden / garden outbuildings. Other things to note There is no car parking outside the property however there is full access to load / unload directly outside. Free off road parking is less than 1 minute walk from the property. Due to the nature of the property it is not suitable for wheelchair users or people with limited mobility, We do not recommend the property for very young children due to the ungated stairway in the dining room.
