Description
Songbird Cabin is nestled in a quiet 30 acre mountain setting with an amazing view! The home is clean, private and peaceful. The space includes covered porch dining, firepit, full kitchen and indoor dining, living room, bathroom, and one bedroom. The property location offers quick access to a major interstate putting opportunities in WNC and Asheville within reach. We are short drive from Mars Hill University. Hatley Pointe is a short 20 min drive. Families with kids are welcome. (NO PETS) The space The space has a full kitchen/dining area, living room, 1 bedroom, and one full bathroom. The bathroom has private tub/shower/toilet space with a door. The vanity area has two sinks and space enough for two people to utilize at the same time (and separated by a door to the tub shower/toilet space). Closet space and drawers are available in the bedroom. The bed is king size with a pillow top mattress. The living room has a large TV with Netflix available for guest use. You can login to your own streaming apps as well. Wifi connection is available. The sofa sleeper in the living room is large enough to sleep two comfortably. Our kitchen is equipped with the cooking necessities required to prepare, serve, and eat meals as you would at home...even a crock pot. There is a dual Keurig coffee maker that brews both pods or a pot of coffee. Stock the fridge with whatever you need during your stay. Standard seasonings and salt/pepper are available for your use. Other amenities include a dishwasher, washing machine, and clothes dryer. A propane grill is provided on the back porch. There is a high top table on the covered porch for outside seating and dining (with a magnificent view). There is a firepit with seating for four with firewood provided. Guests will be given a gate code to enter the property. We, the hosts, do reside on the property a considerable distance away from Songbird Cabin. The cabin is completely private with a separate driveway from the driveway to the main house. We do have two dogs that stay in a fenced in back yard. They come in our home often when we are there and sleep inside at night. Charlotte is a blond lab, and Willie is a senior Treeing Walker Coonhound. Guests at Songbird Cabin will not have contact with the dogs. In addition, there is a chicken coop in the side yard of the main house (no noisy rooster). We do have a managed beehive situated in the backyard of the main house. Again this is at a considerable distance from Songbird Cabin...just being thorough with the information. Guest access Songbird Cabin is exclusively for guests use. The owners do reside on the property a good distance away. Owners will not be in the vicinity of the cabin without notice unless it is necessary or requested by the guest(s). Other things to note During winter weather events we do our best to clear our driveway if possible and will assist to the extent we are able. Although there are occasions when we may not be available or even on the property when weather events occur. We do expect our guests to be able to navigate winter weather conditions independently. Road conditions and power outages due to weather are out of our control. There is a pond, picnic shelter, and fire pit on the property that you may access unless it has been communicated otherwise by us. There are strict guidelines for the use of these areas in the House Manual. You are expected to review these guidelines. They are also posted in the picnic shelter area. I can accommodate your needs for infants and toddlers given advance notice. Please communicate what you require and I will let you know if I can provide items that will lighten your load. If you are traveling with a roaming toddler we can remove decor items from tables that will be within reach prior to your arrival. Just let us know in advance. Our primary residence is located on this 30 acre property. We own two dogs that remain at our home either inside or in our fenced in backyard. BOTH OF THE DOGS ARE PEOPLE FRIENDLY…even with strangers and children. We have three small grandchildren that stay regularly in our home. One of our dogs is NOT dog friendly. She does not go on walks in public areas and only leaves the property for vet visits. She is not accustomed to being around other dogs and becomes territorial at home in the presence of unknown dogs. Out of an abundance of caution we do not permit pets. This is our preference should something happen and our dogs get out of the fence. Please message if you have any questions or concerns about this policy.
