Description
Come and stay in this delightful recently refurbished Georgian period cottage, in a village location in the heart of Bridport. Within walking distance to West Bay harbour, the historic town centre of Bridport and a nature reserve. Step back in time, yet have all the modern amenities of gas central heating, gas fire, new kitchen and bathroom facilities. There is an outdoor dining area, decking for relaxation and a wooded area. There are steep stone steps to garden. The space The cottage is a 2 storey terraced home and accommodates 4 people. Lounge has comfortable seating for 4 people. There is a gas stove for additional warmth and cosiness on cold evenings. The TV is freeview with an added ROKU for you to log in and access your own streaming sites. The kitchen/diner is next to the lounge. Here you will find new fully equipped cupboards and gas cooker with gas hob. There is an undercounter fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster for your use. There is also a circular table with seating for 4. The door then leads you to the utility room containing a washing machine and cupboard storing iron and ironing board, lightweight hoover and cleaning supplies if you need them . Here you will also find a rocking chair for some quiet time and bucket and spades for beach trips. The external door has a step in the utility room and then 8 steep stone steps to reach the terraced garden. A steep period staircase leads to the second floor. Here you will find 2 bedrooms and family bathroom Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed with comfy mattress and 4 pillows. There is a large chest of drawers. Each bedside has a floating shelf and lamp. Bedroom 2 has a small double and single bunk bed. There is a large cupboard with coat hangers and additional shelving. The bathroom has a walk-in shower with glass screen. There is a cupboard under the basin and here you will find a basket of essentials you may have forgotten to bring or not expected to need. Quick drying cotton towels are provided and there is hooks outside the bathroom door. There are steep stone steps leading from the utility room up to a terraced garden. The garden is very long and narrow. There is a picnic style table for al fresco eating. Some areas of the garden benefit from rewilding. A separate deck provides sunbathing opportunities. There is a central path dividing the garden with our neighbour on the left - this is a mutual arrangement. Parking is on the road outside the cottage. There are steps leading from the road up to the pavement. There is a telephone box used as book library on the road. A playpark is a 5 minute walk and this also leads to a nature reserve. The general area is a perfect combination of town, countryside and beaches. We are a 15 minute walk from the thriving, creative, and vibrant market town of Bridport. This is next to West Bay with access to The Jurassic Coast, the only natural World Heritage Site in England. West Dorset has a wide spread of local producers and fantastic cafes and restaurants, we are happy to share our favourites with you. You will be close to the start of the beautiful coastal drive to Abbotsbury and Weymouth. The coast and surrounding countryside is popular with walkers, cyclists and those who enjoy water sports. West bay and Seatown also offer beach sauna huts for a relaxing unique experience. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and garden to the right of the central path. Other things to note We’ve added a small table in the laundry room for if you need to do some office work whilst on your stay.
