With magnificent ocean views from the first floor and the beach entrance just 40 steps from the house, this cool beach house is amazing!!!..And very private too. Wake up to the fresh sounds and smells of the beach as you sip your morning coffee from the front balcony, if this gets too ocean breezy...move to the sunny, back deck space with outdoor couch and cushions. Thank you Victoria. Nicole and family. 😁 Shells at Aireys is a wonderful, modern beach house with strong and therapeutic ocean sounds and smells filling its upper and lower levels. Most importantly, Shells at Aireys it has close, magnificent and unobstructed views of the ocean. In fact, you could not be any closer to the beach without being on the beach. I counted the steps to the beach recently with my 8 year old daughter...just 40 steps took us from the house to the start of the scenic pathway down to the beach. There are 2 sets of huge, glass sliding doors on the upper level. The glass doors to the front (south) reveal amazing ocean views and 2 sun lounges to view it from... while the glass doors to the back of the property (north) open out to a quieter, more sheltered terrace overlooking trees and a peaceful gully scene with a cushioned outdoor lounge set, a BBQ and 6 seater table and chairs to enjoy it with. For a family the location of this beach house is especially ideal. Members of the family that forget something or simply wish to come up from the beach visit early have the luxury of doing so. The outdoor hot shower is also very useful for guests wanting to wash off the salt and sand, and feel fresh after a swim or surf. The kitchen is zen, light, modern, very well equipped for 6 -8 guests. Dining on the glass table indoors is very light with pleasing views of the ocean one way and beautiful tree views the other. The kitchen has Miele appliances...oven/electric cooktop and a dishwasher. Separate European freezer. This house has full air-conditioning and heating. We have wifi. You may also enjoy relaxing on the indoor couch on the upper level, staring through the glass doors to the ocean... dreaming and relaxing, this is a treasured position in the house. The magic of this house is truely its convenient proximity to the entrance of one of the best beaches on Great Ocean Road...a secluded beach called Sandy Gully Beach. It is off the beaten tourist path and does not offer much parking, so it is more private and frequented by locals. Please note, there are no lifeguards at this beach. Shells at Aireys is also at the entrance to a magnificent nature path that can take you hours walking along long stretches of uninhabited beaches towards Anglesea, a must for adventurers and dreamers of natural wonders, you must be quite fit for this adventure. Alternatively, a walk along the cliff top pathway towards the famous Aireys Lighthouse is also just 23 steps from the house and takes you on a stunning walk. Our girls like to do this cliff top, coastal walk every time we come here. A 15 to 20 minute walk along this path usually ends up at the Lighthouse Cafe with a yummy smoothie in their hands! There are 2 living room spaces in this beach house, one light and Airey lounge room with a smart TV that joins the kitchen and dining space, and one cosy space downstairs with lounge furniture and a TV/VCR set up. There are 3 bedrooms to choose from. The master queen bedroom has a lovely aspect to the north of the house with garden views and a walk in robe. The second queen bedroom also has a lovely aspect to the north garden and a built in robe. The third bedroom is made up as 4 king single bunkbeds and has a window facing south with strong wave sounds. There is one main bathroom with a separate shower and separate bath, a toilet and a large vanity. There is a separate second bathroom under the staircase with a toilet and small vanity/mirror. The outdoor shower seems to help alleviate any conjestion in the main bathroom with our bigger group bookings. We have a full laundry set up in a seperate room, very handy with family groups. If you would like to hang out your towels to dry in the summer, there is a clothes line in the north garden. All bookings come with full linen. A variety of local restaurants in both Aireys Inlet and Anglesea, in addition to yummy ice cream shops, make this area of the coastline very fun and great for relaxation time with family and friends. Guest access Sorry no access to the garage but driveway can accommodate 2 cars front to rear. Other things to note Absolutely no pets of any kind. This is strictly a non smoking property. This property is not used to host events of any kind, or additional undeclared guests. The house is very close to the beach and the front balcony especially can be windy, therefore there may be leaves on it or the north facing balcony for your arrival. The windswept nature of this coastline is characteristic of the Great Ocean Road. Please no umbrellas on either or the decks as they could become dangerous in high, fast changing winds. Thank you.
